If there were any new patches and people were downloading at the same time; the issue would be that there's lots of people downloading a patch thus making the download slow.
Try a little later and see if that helps.
If you don't see any increase in download speeds the issue is on your end.
Try turning off your anti-virus, stop all other downloads (duh).

Well for kicks I tried downloading the European version off of the main website instead of the North American one, and 10 minutes later its downloaded more than the NA version did in a 12 hour span... It should be done in little over an hour.
So does the North American Version just hate Canadians? Only thing I can think of 
Also, is the European version for European accounts ONLY or does it mean the downloading server is from there? Since my account is NA, am I out of luck once this one's done downloading? Worst case scenario: NA account won't work with the European version. Is there a way to make my account into European? I'd probably have to open a ticket and whatnot, but since a large amount of my friends are playing on the European servers it wouldn't be too much of a bother for me...
EU accounts only work on EU servers and vice versa with US accounts but, both sets of servers use the same files so continue to download the EU version then just run the US updater.
Definitely stick with your US account as EU servers are no where near as populated.

Hello there, I seem to have problems downloading the CoX game:
I bought my copy (architech edition) off of the main website, and downloaded the 10mbish client. Once I start the client it begins to download 2.8gb for the game. Fair Enough. Problem is... It's downloading at a speed of 20kbs... It can't be something wrong with me, since my Firewall is disabled and my internet connection is 3mb-5mb DSL, as well as my downloading speeds for EVERYTHING else seems normal. I decided to let CoH download alone at night while I was asleep and wake up to it have only downloaded 100mb...
Is this a common problem? I've checked the forums and through google, but only read complaints and not really any fixes. I guess one possible solution would be to download off of the Steam website, but then I'd have to pay an ADDITIONAL $23CND (and Im not sure if it downloads off of here or not), and there's no retailer here who has a copy, or ever will.
Any help on improving the downloading speed, or perhaps a mirror download site?
