I can't remember the bind/macro commands for pet emotes, are they currently working, I remember they were broken for awhile? I checked paragonwiki and the forumsearch but I didn't get anything on the wiki and my searching of this forum is bad .

http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Pet_Commands (petsay is how MM pets emote, IIRC it's broken though...but it's been a long time since I tried emoting through any of my MMs' pets, so it may have gotten fixed)

I could've sworn it was fixed, and I had done it on my bots/ff, but I deleted those macro's for some stupid reason so I can't log him in to see how I did it .

Go to search.
put in the terms 'petsay goto petcom'

That will give you several of the Guide threads that include the pet commands.

At the top is a recent one that looked good.

I think they are working, but it has been a while sine I ran my MMs.
I'll check.

If I remember correctly, the issue was that the < and > only parse correctly in directly typed commands. When used in a bind or macro, they are replaced with &lt; and &gt; respectively. These codes cause the symbols to be displayed rather than recognized as the beginning and end of a command.

Less technical version: Anything that uses pointy brackets, like <color> or /petsayall <em dance> works when typed, but breaks when saved to a macro or bind.

I don't know if this has been fixed with pet emotes, but I know it hasn't with regards to <color>, so it's likely pet emotes will fail too.

Ran the boys through their paces.

They danced, They spoke.
They sat when I hit that macro.

They sang and danced the songs "Stop in the name of love", and Y.M.V.A.,
when I tapped the proper macro keys.

When I pressed my 'goto' bound key and clicked the top of a lamppost, all 6 of them hopped up and stood atop that post.
. . . and several other tests passed muster.

Was there any other things broken lately?

ETA: (some of the above macros or binds that worked, were:

  • petsay_all <em alakazam> STOP!
  • SHIFT+LeftClick "petcom_all goto"
  • petsay_all <em chicken>
Some of the color or textsize commands are no longer working in ANY command. . .
Not just a pet problem.)

Stever I think part of the problem was if they were created pre-problem they worked, and new they didn't. I just copied yours and they didn't execute, or give an error either

You may be right, for binds.

The goto should still work.
The first and third were actually macros, and pasting those, still worked.

/macro BCL Petsay_all <em drumdance> BOOM! Chaka Laka Laka
DOES work.. When I hit that macro button, they dance, and say "BOOM! Chaka Laka Laka"

HOWEVER, it appears the bind cannot now be created.

Trying /bind k Petsay_all <em drumdance> BOOM! Chaka Laka Laka
OR /bind k "Petsay_all <em drumdance> BOOM! Chaka Laka Laka"
. . . does not work

interesting . . . and annoying...
Gonna hafta look at it further . . .

yup I have the "GOTO" set, I made one for each individual pet, it's almost like they have brains now

Edit:
hmm, I just put /petsayall <em flip> into chat and it worked,
then I did /macro test "<em flip>" (i'm tired, and forgot the petsayall),
but the < and > stayed in the macro, so I edited the macro to add the petsayall,
and the macro works. who knows what part of that sequence allowed it to work, i'm too tired to bugtest it :P

I am just surprised to find how long it has been since I set any new MM binds!

When they spoke, was it in speech bubbles, or was it limited to the pet chatter chat channel? If it was the latter, then that particular aspect is still broken.

Petsay is not appearing in chat bubbles, so yes that's still broken.

I found a rather interesting glitch by accident a while back that allowed you to talk in NPC chat, rather than the Pet chat channel... The NPC chat DOES show up in the bubbles, and even players who have the option selected to hide pet chat (which I cannot seem to find on the new options) will still see it as well.

Example:
/macro NPC "petsaypow "Assault Bot" I am just a pet.<em>Oh look!<em>Now I'm an NPC!"

Result:
[Pet](Player_name)(Pet_name): I am just a pet.
[NPC] Assault Bot: Oh look!
[NPC] Assault Bot: Now I'm an NPC!

There is a 1 second delay in-between each line of text, triggered by a single macro.

Image showing the Pet/NPC chat and bubbles, as well as the right-click of the macro button, showing the full code.

And for the record.. editing the < > characters themselves into a macro does not work, but creating a new macro with the symbols WILL work. You can then re-edit the macro text as many times as you want, as long as the < > symbols themselves are not touched, or you'll have to start again from scratch.

In short, YES, you can still make pet emotes in macro, but they can not me inserted into an existing macro. They need to have existed before it was "broken", or added as a new macro.
