Did you download and install the latest video drivers for your card? (As opposed to whatever basic ones ship with Windows.)

Right-click on the desktop | Nvidia Control Panel | Help | System Information

Current Nvidia 64-bit driver version for the GTS250 is 195.62. If you don't have that, then you need to download it from: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_wi...5.62_whql.html

Many toons on CoV and CoH. On-line 80+ months

Follow flashfox's link, and don't make this assumption. Honestly, quite a few will fire up the system and, if it has video, call it good. Windows 7 does ship with drivers that recognize the nVidia cards, yes, but they're not the most recent or particularly geared towards performance. They'er there to let you see the desktop.

If getting the proper drivers doesn't work (though that is the most likely amd common cause), it's also possible that CoH's default settings aren't agreeing with your lappy. You can either try starting the game in Safe Mode (little check box on the updater), and adjust your settings up from the minimum until it's at a point that it both works and looks decent, or you can try using Tweak CoH to adjust your settings from outside the game. I'd try checking the resolution the game is trying to run in, and make sure it matches your desktop resolution.
