Someone else had this problem recently, but with Win 7. It looks like you've already tried what they did though. Hmm...please run CoH Helper and post the results in this thread so that the techies can take a look for ya. CoH Helper gives us all the relevent info about your system and current CoH settings to make troubleshooting a little easier.
Something is probably crazy with the drivers. You might need to go through the whole clean driver install thing.
Hi, all. Anyway on the insistence of a friend of mine I went out of purchases COH the other day. Upon trying to run it, I get the "City of Heroes requires DirectX or higher. Please ugrade..." So, I installed DirectX 10, updated all my drivers from the manufacturers and not via Widows update and I'm still getting the same error. I have more than enough memory and ram, ran the directx analysis tool and received no errors. Any ideas? As far as the video card it's a GE Force 9800 GT and running Widows Vista 64bit. Thanks in advance.
