Fansite Kit and Assignment Copyright protection

I'm currently attempting to reverse engineer the design document that would have been created for the proposal of City of heroes as part of a module for my Uni degree. To do this i'm going to hope to use concept art and the fansite kit for the images and such within the document. I would be correct in assuming before i spend my time and effort doing so i wont be breaking any Copyright protection laws and that a simple referance to the location of the material would be suffice?

P.S Is there a good place that i can get some good concept art images of decent quality? i've not found as many as i'd like

Citing in whatever format (APA/MLA) you use should be fine. You can never overcite, as my university mentor is fond of telling me.

Of course, it can't hurt to ask the professor about it. WRT the fansite kit, the license basically says "so long as you're not making money off of this stuff you can use it" (there's a bit more to it, and it's all in legalese, of course)
