Advise for Dual Blades/Super Reflexes Scrapper

Yeah, I knew as soon as I bought the latest booster, I was going to be bit by my Altaholism...

So! Dual Blades and Super Reflexes. There seems to be an amazing dearth of guides regarding the former. The latter is very simple in concpet - need to take everything, except perhaps Elude, if I invest enough to Soft Cap. In practice... while I can be certain that some powers (like Practiced Brawler) need to be grabbed right away, I'm not entirly certain what can or can not be pushed back some for other powers.

One thing to note, though, is that I intend to use Ninja Run for my travel power, so I'm not sure I'll even be dipping into those pools (unless I need Combat Jumping for some reason...)

So... does anyone have any advise regarding this combo? Especially the Dual Blades side of it?

Thanks!

I've played this combo to fifty and like it. Nice thematic fit, looks really sexy and a little IO investment makes it extremely tough.

DB/ can be played in three* ways: Get everything from the primary (except the taunt) and use all the combos. get everything except Nimble Slash and the taunt and use Attack Vitals and Sweep or get only the attacks required for Attack Vitals + Blinding Feint.

The first Option is the tightest, but gives you all the combos to play with. However, I feel the the benefit isn't worth it. Weaken is almost useless to a soft-capped /SR (useful while levelling, though) and Empower's damage buff is simply too small to be worth chaining the combo for it.

The second option gives you very decent St and AoE damage with AV and Sweep respectively but makes the build pretty tight.

The advantage of using the third option is it gives you quite a bit more power picks to play with. The downside is that your AoE potential will drop to "pretty low". You can grab Typhoon's Edge as well, but outside the Sweep combo TE is not that good an AoE.

As for /sr, get everything except Elude if you softcap, and get the toggles and PB ASAP. The Passives can be put off a few levels, but try to fit them quickly. Lightning Reflexes can wait as long as you want but as it's really, really nice to have it's a matter of taste. I picked it up in the mid-30s.

Besides that, get Stamina at 20, get Tough and Weave for the extra defence and you're good to go. CJ is a really nice power to have as it gives a little defence, nice mobility and some cool slotting possibilities for very little end cost.

Depending on how you build the DB/ side of the toon, you may have a power pick or two for Epic pools or Aid Self.

For IO slotting: Get to the softcap, get 50ish global rech (Lightning reflexes makes this easy) so you can run Blinding Feint -> Attack Vitals combo for your ST damage and then stack up on +HP, +Regen, and +Recovery if you need it.

And that's all I can think of right now. What to take for DB/ is very much a matter of taste, so I'd suggest trying out all the combos before respeccing out of the ones you don't use.

*Ok, there's other ways to go about it, but they aren't as common.

I think McFly touched all the bases. I hit 50 on my ninja themed DB/SR a week before the booster came out. It's definitely a fun set, SR is strong once you get yourself close to the softcap, and I really enjoyed the combo system of dual blades. I'd recommend taking the powers for the AV and sweep combos and kicking them off with blinding feint. I generally rush in to a large spawn (play at +2 / X8) and open up with the sweep combo, then run a couple AV's and then alternate back to the sweep again to keep everyone on their butts. Keep a healthy supply of greens for when those odd hits do land and you'll be golden.
