My first domi
It seems you're leaning toward the melee sets, so I'll suggest Earth/Thorn as a pretty unique. The -def in Earth plus the Toxic damage in /Thorn should make a good combo.
/Earth makes you feel very SMASHY and compliments the Earth primary very well. There may be some haters for Mud Pots, but I found it you slot a Scirocco's Chance for Lethal, Eradication Chance for Energy and an Obliteration Chance for Smashing that it really buffs up the power. Even though it has a pathetic 8 foot radius (I feel it should be 12 feet), you'll hardly notice since most of the set has you in melee range anyway.
As for /Earth I can suggest the ones I recently made, which are
Ice/Earth (Melee, actually useful for ITF, which is rare for Doms)
Grav/Earth (I play him pretty much like a brute with wormhole, teleporting enemies into a corner and smacking them with my AoEs (including Mud Pots - like that, the radius is no issue at all) and the ultra-powerful single-targets. Since the AoE Immob doesn't suppress Knockback, Fissure is your friend)
As has been stated before probably numerous times, the Crystal Theme for Earth can be tinted to look like ice (actually missing the proper color, but it's close enough for government work).
As for the Grav: Grav may not be the most powerful or easiest to play primary, but it packs loads of fun, and once you learn to use your wormhole, can be quite safe - also, you can wormhole one spawn into a second and hold the combined mobs for maximum AoE insanity.
Howdy. I've decided to finally roll a dominator and it shall be my first and only L50 villain. The thing is, I'm no too fond of FoTMs. I'd rather play a combo maybe not so shiny but more unique. I'm considering the following combos:
Ice/Thorn
Ice/Ice
Earth/Earth
Earth/Ice
I'm leaning towards Ice/Thorn or Earth/Earth. Hopefully you'll help me decide or even suggest something else. It will be a PvE toon and focused on late level TFs.
Thanks in advance.
