Apocalypse: Plague

I create custom missions for a group and this one went over well. It's based on a villain group with a horsemen of the apocalypse theme. This arc specifically deals with the pestilence side of the group.

It was desgined with group play in mind. Half of the group was mid 30s, the rest 40+. The AV is tough. Feedback appreciated.

Okay, lets give this arc a shot. I'm writing this as I am playing through the arc, so it's a bit stream of conciousness. I'm soloing with my DB/WP brute Great White, BTW.

Mission 1:
-Okay, so our contact is this guy named Nedro, who kind of looks like God in that he's an old man in all white with a big ol' beard. His description says he is a "wise old mage" who can sense "dangers to the entire plane". Um...I've never heard of this guy before. Maybe a little more introduction would be nice?
-So he says he has "forseen a great catastrophe" and that millions will die unless I avert it. He says the catastrophe is some kind of demonic virus, which I must admit, sounds pretty damn metal.
-So we're on an office map full of Banished Patheon. Okaaay...they weren't mentioned in the briefing, but given their track record I guess they would be onboard with the idea of killing millions of people with a demonic virus.
-So we run into our first EB, some chick who kind of looks like Carmen san Diego named "Thyphoid Lily". She's a rad/rad, and despite the nasty debuffs, goes down quick. Still, like many other things thus far, I have no idea what she is doing here.
-Ah, and here is our second EB, some bloke who is currently puking his guts out named "Pox of Despair". He's an Energy Assault/Dark Armor. I hit strength of will, pop some insps, and then this happens:

Quote:
Pox of Despair smashes you for 402.97 points of smashing damage!
Pox of Despair smashes you for 1558.25 points of energy damage!
OUCH. One shotted.
-Round two! Popped four purples and twelve reds and dropped him like a bad habit...

...and then he rezzed...

...does anyone actually like when elite bosses rez?
-The clue you get when you defeat him is also baffling. It says:
Quote:
Pox mentioned that he had been compelled by others to infect people, but who are they?
Wait, is "they" referring to the people compelling him to infect others, or the people he is infecting?
-Nedro is a man of few words apparently. Upon exiting he just says:
Quote:
Alas, I see greater evil still.
Dagnabit! Thought I had gotten all the evil around here! Bet the rest of the evil rolled under the couch.

Mission 2:
So Nedro says:
Quote:
As I feared, this Pox was not the sole source of the plague to come. Even now another leads a horde of the ill to infect us all. We must stop this new threat and learn more of those who have caused it.
Wait, why do they want to kill a bunch of people again? He then follows up with:
Quote:
This infectious horde just recently arrived at the ports. Go there quickly and stop the leprous legion.
So...they came by boat? Huh. You think the legions of hell would travel in something more flashy than a cargo ship. I do like "Leprous Legion" though. Perhaps they will be leaping like lusty llamas?
-Oh good, were on the warburg map from the LRSF. Glad were not in that crappy cargo ship map.
-So our foes are indeed a bunch of dudes with leprosy, who belong to the villaingroup "Leper Colony". They must throw some awesome parties!
-Ran into a custom boss named "Marcus Cadaver MD". Wow, geez, if I had that last name I would change it in a heartbeat. Hes a necro/poison MM. Thing is, our two objectives are "defeat the horde" and "defeat the leader", and defeating him accomplished neither of those two. So once again, a completely pointless boss.
-So apparently the real leader is a guy named "The Leper King". Huh. Appropriate name. But I can't take him seriously, as he's using that horrible "tin crown" hairstyle that makes him look like he either came back from a birthday party or a halloween party where he dressed up like Jughead. Didn't catch his powers because he quickly killed me.
-Okay, one of the best lines of dialogue from the ENTIRE MA:
Quote:
[NPC] Leper King: I'll give a free ear to anyone who can save me!
[NPC] Colony Hunter: Oooo, free ears. I'm so there.
effing classic.
-Aww phooey. Turns out defeating the Leper King wasnt enough to complete the mission. Looks like a defeat all...*grumblemumble*
-Turns out a defeat all on the Warburg Malta map isn't too bad. There are certainly far worse maps to get a defeat all on, like that big towering factory map (THAT MEANS YOU UNAI KEMEN!!!).
-So the clue for mission completion is:
Quote:
The note on Leper King detailed the attack plans. Apparently, he was under orders by a Doctor Contagion. The letterhead on the note is from a hospital.
Um, remind me what this has to do with the four horsemen of the apocalypse again? I mean we have pestilence certainly, but thats only one out of four.

Mission 3:
-So my send off text is:
Quote:
Go now. Destroy his lab and send him back to whatever infernal realm he now calls home.
Is it just me, or does the idea of a demon with a doctorate strike anyone as really wierd? I mean can you imagine this guy in medical school? He must have been a FREAKIN' PARTY ANIMAL WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
-Were on the Mother Mayhem asylum map, as expected. I'm kind of getting sick of this map though. Seems like nearly every MA arc has it.
-So my objectives are:
Quote:
Defeat Pox, Defeat Lilly, Defeat Dr. Cadaver, Defeat Dr. Contagion
Wait, didnt I already defeat 3 of those guys? What are they doing back here again? And who the hell are they anyway?
-So the enemies here are the imaginitively titled "Hospital" villaingroup. And as you would expect, they are just dudes in hospital uniforms. This makes it all the stranger when the very first foe I ran into was an Anesthesiologist who was a spines/poison.

Let me reiterate that. A perfectly normal looking woman in a hospital outfit just grew spines and spat poison out her mouth.
-Oh boy. Pox of despair again. He's doing the groundpunchreact emote, so it looks like he is having a siezure. Which on second thought, may have been the point.
-Remember how I said Thyphoid Lily wasn't too bad the first time? Well this time she killed me FIVE TIMES, due to the anesthesiologists spamming poison debuffs at me.
-So when Thyphoid Lily finally died she said:
Quote:
[NPC] Thyphoid Lilly: A pox on your souuuuuuu......
my soup?
-So here's Dr. Contagion's bio:
Quote:
Dr. Conrad T. Johns was a prominent doctor and scientist. All that changed when his lab exploded spraying him with a multitude of experimental chemicals. At first, things seemed ok. After he healed, he noticed many of his terminal patients were improving and he felt great. However, this feeling was short lived as his wife and children slowly began to sicken, and he discovered far too late that his body was producing radiation that was both killing and healing those around him. Some think he snapped when his family died, others believed he was always twisted. Regardless, now he wants the whole world to turn sick and wither away.
Conrad t. Johns...Con...T...Johns...oh wow, that's a bad pun. And wasn't this guy supposed to be a demon?
-When encountered Dr. Contagion said:
Quote:
NPC] Doctor Contagion: Once the Omega Flu is unleashed Lord Ruinous will have to make me first among the four.
Wait...do you mean Lord Recluse? And the four patrons? When did Arachnos work their way into this?
-And we're done. Upon my return Nedro says:
Quote:
have been the grand healer of our world for you have stopped the nether plague from enveloping us all. My gratitude can not express the greatness of your deeds.
Wasn't it just called the Omega Flu? Ugh...

Well the best I can say about this arc is that it has some cute dialogue. But otherwise the story is incomprehensible, the mobs are overpowered, and the overall presentation is horribly shoddy. I'm sorry, but I can't give this any higher than one star.
