Was I in the wrong?
I'm not going to make him trade me for it though because he mailed me a Question JLU figure for by birthday last year.

The Question: Blue overcoat. Fedora.
Huntress: ...you really stink at this.
The Question: Orange socks?
((Sorry... couldn't help it. I loved the JLU version of The Question so much. Jeffery Combs FTW.

I would say if you asked someone to give you the name then, delete it after a week I too would be pissed. If you simple picked it up from the tread then deleted its fine.
Wow. Seriously? There are people that actually think this is a big deal?... Wow.. just...wow. People.. its a damn name.. not your first born. Now a few of the people on this thread are making sense.. its basically a issue of being polite.. but do you honestly think that a name for a game character is really worth getting upset over? Hey... I know.. try this.....
Original name... Shawn Kaogi
DUN.DUN.DUN.. my toon dies.. so I put the name up for grabs and someone gets it..
DING DING... my toon is resurrected by his sg...but wait.. the name is taken..
WOOT... Shawn Kaogi'.. problem solved. ((notice the comma at the end?))\
Sheesh.. stop your whining people.
Or hey. even.. Sean Kaogi.. wow.. look at that. All I'm saying is its really not something worth getting all upset over. Unless of course your still coloring pictures at school... Then maybe I could understand your getting upset over something so...childish
I'd say, if the name was available/freed up/given up, then 'speculation' on that name is within the rules of acceptable content.
If whoever had the name didn't want it traded about, why did they post it in the thread in the first place?
*Doesn't think Nadya was all that naughty, this time*
"City of Heroes. April 27, 2004 - August 31, 2012. Obliterated not with a weapon of mass destruction, not by an all-powerful supervillain... but by a cold-hearted and cowardly corporate suck-up."
Here's what went down. /getglobalname 'insert name here.' /Tell @global. 'Hey are you using 'insert name?' "Not really. If you want it, I am sure you'll give it a good home." I then level the name to 30 over 40-60 days. Not that interest, nor after the LONG period do I even remember the global. So I put the name up for trade, trade it, then the previous owner sends me a PM saying it's only right I return it to him/her. Too late. It's gone. Oh well. I am then told I should be more careful. That I should be expected to remember their obscure global and tell them I no longer want the name they gave me weeks ago. Pfft. >.>

That's not the same as getting it from the name thread.

IMO, there is a difference between taking a name that someone has already decided to give up and offer to whoever wants it, and seeking someone out and pressuring them (even lightly) to surrender it so that you can have it, then deciding later that you don't want it anymore. The name would never have been "in the pool" if not for you taking an active role.
