computer crashes once im on for a while
A couple of questions.
Have CoH previously ran on that computer?
Does CoH crash immediately or how long do you get in game?
Post a CoH Helper report it will tell your computer comfiguration.
used to happen to me as well. After roughly an hour of gaming it would give me the nvdmkm error, only on cox, but that was Vista having trouble with my video card I realized, when I upgraded to sli graphics cards. XP? good question, I was under the impression that it was only Vista that did that.......

Then I could be your graphic card is failing.
You could try measuring the temperatures of the CPU and especially the GPU.
CoH stresses the system very much, and therefore weak spots might show up when playing.
Even though, I still recommend posting a CoH Helper report.

Then post the results of these two programs:
- CoH Helper - it will show us basic computer settings and your CoH configuration.
- HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

I'm going to have to run those programs and post as well. My old PC was crashing about 5 minutes into a CoX session (sometimes on the Server select screen) so I bought a new dual core. Sadly. I am still getting random reboots while playing despite having more processor, more memory and a different video card.
I never know how long I have before the crash happens. On the old PC it was a fast event, I could be playing normally when I would get *click* *reboot* but now there is a prolonged freeze before the *rebbot*. Last night was a good one because I was finishing off a Rikti bomb and when it blew, it took my CoX session with it. The bomb exploded and the session froze with the explosion sound looping. After a minute I just reached over and hit my reset button rather than wait for it to reboot. As I watched the computer come back up I thought "man, that blast was pretty big!"
I'll see if I can make some time tonight to get and post a couple files. I'd really like to know what is causing these crashes. I also need to turn off that reboot toggle and let WinXP go to blue screen so I can have a better idea what is actually blowing up.

Anything jump out at you?
Since posting this I've tried various video settings to see if turning things down would help. So far, I'm still averaging 2 crashes an hour. at least when they are back-to-back I can hope that I get a longer span to actually play.
ok,here the thing.I just installed xp pro this week. I had to reinstall almost everything on my computer, once i installed coh and try to play it soon or later it crashes. I was wondering it anyone knows why? nothing else on my computer crashes.I add the game into my firewalls so it not blocked that not the issue.I reistalled a few time to see if that help that didnt do any better.Wondering if i need to shut off my anti-virus before reinstalling? If anyone has had this problem before,or have any suggestion what i can do feel free to help me. Thanks ahead of time
