have you heard of this mm strategy?
I am not saying when I hit 50 I wouldnt upgrade the Dampened Spirits, but you can hardly beat the cost for levelling.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.

Another possibility is the Revolver Recipe from the Market. You'll have to keep rebuying it though (although it's usually inexpensive) so it's similar to the others that you have to keep "recharging" it.
vet awards? i wish lol, I might be able to scare them off with the ugly greek symbols I got recently XD. However, day job accolades I do have. So far I got the sleep grenade and the frag one too, only problem is having to charge them up all the time, but they're pretty cool. I have some other kinda scattered moves too like stolen immob. ray.

If you don't have access to them, then there's really nothing you can do about that but wait until you do. Even one is a good bonus, though, it'll do more damage than you can ever do with a regular attacl even fully slotted (although it's horrid about missing) and it doesn't cost you a slot. It's a great compromise for those who don't want to sacrifice anything for firepower.
It's by no means necessary though. I've got a number of MMs that don't use the Vet Rewards because they don't fit their concept.

It feels like my Spec Ops duo do better than my commando. I use them in any job where I need someone to start a fight or for a ... well... special operation. Back before I respeced out of Serum it seemed to give better mileage on one of them. I love them. But maybe that's because they don't go charging into combat like all the others do.
Might be workable with Mercs though, the Spec Ops don't do all that much.

I took all 3 tiers as well as my first two personal attacks. I don't frequently forego the soldiers but if I do (mostly for street sweeps) it works out ok with me semi-filling in the holes.
This is only half true. Henchmen tend to be easily bumped out of the way but they do hinder movement of everyone that's not their master. I frequently play in a 3-MM team and the thugs seem to be constantly in my way. My wife hates playing in teams with more than one MM because of the crowded conditions.
that's the set I'm workign on right now, pretty nice n cheap set too, and the set bonuses are good!
Fluffy is awesome despite what's discussed, that guy's saved my bacon more tmes than I can count lol.
