looking for some opinions on my rad/fire build

i went for a pbaoe build so i focused on melee def. this gets it up to 35% (with maneuvers running) so popping a purple should have me able to survive running into a mob and going to town, at least in theory. it has some pretty good +rech as well.

would love to hear if anyone has some good advice, suggestions, etc.

I'm honestly not crazy about your choice of travel power. If you're going for a melee oriented build, which is totally fine, then invest in combat jumping/hurdle rather than swift/hover. That will enable you to better position all those AoEs, especially since you'll need to switch between cones and PBAoE attacks.

I also think that going for a capped S/L defense build would probably be more effective. You could even build in some range defense in such a build and have better overall protection.

would u happen to have a reference point for this capped s/l build? if there are better options for me i'd love to look into them. this toon is sitting at 50 just waiting for a plan

You can get a general idea from this thread talking about a rad/ment blaster.

EDIT: In just looking over your build, it seems by just going with the ice epic (frozen armor), you'd be close to the cap. I don't have Mid's in front of me; otherwise, I'd check.

this looks promising. less than 4% from s/l cap and 38% melee.
i have a lot of the recipes to get started on this, i think i'll give it a try.

update: i got this character up and running and it's really fun. i took one slot from burn and put it into maneuvers and put a lotg in.
i was having a great time on bm farms running in a unleashing a pbaoe attack chain. i have 70% rech without hasten 140% with, which enables me to keep an irradiate, fire sword circle, combustion combo in effect til they're dead. that is usually only one cycle (excluding bosses) for anything in range especially if used in conjunction wih aim+bu or fulcrum. consume does need to be used pretty often but a good kin reduces the need for it. i like play this toon in an inspiration munching style but make sure to keep a couple green ready for when those boss melee attacks get thru the defense cuz when they do its huge :/

well, thats my story. if you see a maniacal rad/fire running into mobs haphazardly on freedom server its probably me.

p.s. i dont have the apocalypse set in cosmic burst yet, im just using entropic chaos until i get them all (for anyone scrutinizing my recharge numbers, if they care)

Are the procs from obliteration not unique? If not, this is the first I had heard of it and I will be using it in other builds.
