loving SM/Elec

Hey fellow brutes! I'm rocking a stone melee/elec armor brute, and was wondering if I could get a couple of questions answered:

If I slot lightning reflexes, can I drop hasten?

Can I put proc like chance for smashing damage in fault and have it do some damage?

Any moves that are droppable? I already dropped taunt and build up.

Thanks!

Yeah, good combo.

Hasten is 70% some of the time, lightning reflexes is 20% all of the time. It's more of a personal preference thing. I'd just go with LR, personally.

Yes. Procs are nice in fault.

Hurl boulder isn't too special, and I've heard of people skipping power surge (but they likely had aid self and tough).

thanks for the input, didn't know the % difference between hasten and LR
I think I will respec out of hasten, but hurl boulder I will take probably, a nice ranged atack in the back pocket is good to have. But I figure with the set bonuses I'll be getting adding to my recharge, I won't need hasten. And I'm really glad to see that I can mod my fault so that it does a little damage, cause the stun is great as well as the sound it makes, lol BOOOOM!

TY!!! =D

I have a SM/Elec and love it got him to 50 a few issues back. But I went with a speed brute single target beat down. I eventually took tremor when I got to that level. I then added to it with LF. He skipped stone fist in favor of Air Sup. I commited a sin and skipped termor (concept issues) and taunt. I took BU for the times I need a little more To hit or a mega Seismic hit.

I did take Hurl, so if I need to I can use Mu lightning, Hurl, Nemesis staff and Black wand to fight a little stand off.

On the Electric side I skipped Surge. I did take tough (I never take aid self).

I have a rotating combat style for him that works great and I do not miss not having better AOE. Seismic the boss, Air Sup the LT, apply mallets to select minions and back to the boss. He feels very smashtastic.

No. You want both, and your endgame build goal should be permahasten. Can't do that without LR. Besides, both are just too good to pass up. Btw, LR cannot be slotted with anything useful.

Yes, but you'll probably have better use of that slot elsewhere.

Stone Fist, Taunt, Buildup, Grounded if you get a -KB IO, and Power Surge. You'll want Buildup though if you can fit it in, but it's not a priority.

Thanks![/QUOTE]

As I already said, don't! You need as much +recharge as you can get, there simply ain't "enough" with a SM/ElA.

If you like it, but you won't be using it much. Better picks out there.

You have other powers to do more than enough damage. Even if you have no better use for that slot, you can put a Kinetic Crash +rech proc in there, it will be much more useful that way IMO.

I wouldn't suggest dropping a 70% recharge power for 20% recharge. I agree with Exxar in aiming for perma-haste. With a slow moving primary like stone, you need all the speed you can get to obtain a sluggish-free attack chain. Fault does not need damage. A mag 3 disorient with a nice radius does more than it's share without a damage proc. It's a waste. You're better off getting gloom than hurl. Gloom does more damage and activates faster than the 2+ seconds for hurl. Gloom fits into a non-weapon attack chain. Hurl is only convenient if you don't have a pull item like Nemisis Staff or Black Wand.
