Old School Fire/Dev Respec Help.

Hello all and thanks in advance!

I have taken quite a long break from the game, and was wondering if anyone has any respec help for my Lvl 43 Fire/ Dev Blaster.

I mainly solo for time restraints, but I am not opposed to grouping.

Rite now he is slotted as he was at issue 1 or 2. IE, 6 slotted smoke grenade, 6 slotted stamina etc.

I am looking for sample current builds that I can respec to or at least tweak him so he is current and is slotted correctly for the game now.

Again thanks for any input, and I can't wait to get back in there!

Any advice on how to reslot powers? Or how do you know you have hit damage caps etc.

Since ED 6 slotted isnt good..

Dont go past 3 slots (ie Stamina - 3 end mods)

The game is quite different than issue 1 and 2. Before looking at builds, familiarize yourself with Enhancement Diversification.

It's a change that was introduced around issue 6 that diminishes the effectiveness of 3 or more of the same kind of enhancement in any power. Typical slotting for blasts for example (if using SOs) usually follow 1 - 2 Accuracy, 3 Damage, 1 - 2 End Redx, 1 - 2 Recharge depending on the cost of the power and how fast you want it to recharge.

Also both fire blast and devices have undergone a number of changes. In fire blast, it is now a good idea to take flares since the animation time for the power has been markedly improved and it's one of the powers you can fire off when mezzed. Under new defiance 2.0 (you probably skipped defiance 1.0), blasters can fire off their tier 1 and 2 blasts and their tier 1 secondary power. So in your case, you can fire off flares, fire blast and web grenade. Also, Defiance is an inherent that works as you fire off powers giving you a damage buff to your attacks as you activate powers.

Smoke grenade is no longer the crutch it once was and is now merely a very optional power that some people take and others don't. It will no longer make you virtually unhittable...that was corrected back in issue 2. Mostly people take it to cap defenses or as a poor person's invisibility.

You'll note that I used one IO (Invention Origin) in your build. I'd recommend that you buy and slot a -kb (anti knockback) IO even if you stay with SOs for your character. It's a decent substitute for acrobatics and it costs no endurance. It's pretty much a staple for even SO only characters since the benefits far, far outweigh costs.
