I retired him before ED so he was almost dead broke in his mid-30's and I wanted to see how much inf he could earn by 50 without much in the way of marketeering, just selling drops and crafting the occasional big ticket recipe.

So far so good, it looks like he'll have all the inf he needs by the time he gets to 50.

Like the resistance cap, it varies by archetype. Unlike the resistance cap, that doesn't really matter because even for the squishies, it's significantly above 45%. There's plenty of room between the two caps to allow for debuff protection, so the hard cap tends to be negligible.
