One of each boss?

I'm making a mission for my SG, and the idea is that I've taken each of our characters and made them a boss that comes in to save the day.

However, sometimes it spawns duplicates of one or two characters, even though I've created enough custom characters so that it should only pick one of each.

Similarly, in another mission I've created enough custom bosses to match up everything from solo to full team, but more often than not it decides to use two of NPC1 rather than NPC1 and NPC2.

Is there a way to get the MA to only send one of each boss, or is this something it can't do?

Only way I know of to ensure a specific boss appears is to select that specific individual boss for an encounter and make sure the group associated with him (if it's an enemy) has no bosses in it. Any time a group has multiple bosses (or lts, or minions) it picks one at random when needed. If you have, for instance, three custom bosses in a group and a team is large enough for a three boss spawn it will pick three at random... could be one of each, or could be three of one, or anywhere in between.

Truly custom spawns would be a very nice addition... among other things, it would let us do the "two bosses fighting or talking" type of encounter.

The amount of memory required for a group is pretty small. If the character is a boss, contact or ally, the group file doesn't even appear to be created.

If your group contains only one boss, the spawn will usually have multiple copies of that boss if the team size is greater than one. Probably not what you want.

Right now the only way provided for getting exactly one of the guy you want is an ally objective. The ally can be made to be "Single," in which case he'll be standing alone when you get there.

He won't charge in to save your bacon, but he will follow you around and fight.

Yep, I tried once to set up a Civic Squad like encounter where the number of bosses would scale based on the team size, so the detail called for an All-Boss group. Problem was that it would never spawn all 8 individual bosses, instead often you'd get duplicates of a couple of them and some would not show up. Had to scrap the idea.

Besides, as far as the devs' current point of view is concerned, if you make a group that only has bosses you are clearly trying to abuse, so they give only 25% rewards.
(And if you decide to remove a puny power that gives a little melee defense and instead add a higher tier power that gives defense against all so your melee-attacking boss isnt too easy for ranged characters and not too hard for the already penalized melee ones, you are purely evil and the boss gives no reward at all.)

So... I dont see any chance for boss encounters like that in the near future.
