Fire Pup Thursday Rookery
Fire safety IS important. If you aren't careful with matches or large containers of gasoline you just might burn down that house of the person who refuses to sell their property to a land developer for a really good price keeping you from selling YOURS for a really good price and forcing you to live in substandard housing at a third rate retirement home instead of spending your golden years on an island in the sun somewhere.
Andthen you'd have to wear the collar of shame!
Oh Good Morning everyone!
Thanks for opening Rad. How ya doing?

oh oh OH... I see, I understand now. I was thinking 'fire puppy' in a different.. nevermind.
*hides the flamethrower and pets the cute lil puppy on the head, shooing it away*
Sooo.. yeah anyway. First of the month. Which means I'll be swamped with work. Which oddly enough means the chances of you seeing me will go up because I'm chained to my computer and can only get away a few minutes at a time. Serious, chained. Jacob Marley has go nothing on me. *rattles chains in a spooky way*
SG Mate: Cien, what the hell is this Rookery thing?
RadDidIt: (interjecting) Dude. It's the Rookery.
SG Mate: Yeah, but what IS it?
RadDidIt: Silliness Incarnate.
And just in time for Halloween too Neko.
Seriously saw large 10 foot plastic chains at Hobby Lobby the other day. So temtped to pick them up...

Yup, October, my favorite month of the year, for a variety of reasons. I've been missing living up north though. Fall always seem more... Fall-like up there with all the trees changing colors and the cool, yet crisp days. Fields of corn at their peak and lots of decorations everywhere.
*sighs and curls up wistfully*

Go to North Georgia around Ellijay late October. It'll be there.
Pumpkins the size of truck beds, scarecrows made of corn, cool sunny days and more red and brown leaves you can shuffle through in a lifetime.

Just feeling nostalgic and wondering if I should move. I've really got no reason to stick around here, and my job travels with me. On the other hand, I've also got no reason to be anywhere else either.

You lot have gone soft and flabby in my absence. I look in these forums and see some little snot whining that he was treated poorly for not only being unable to spell or type a complete sentence but using illegible colors.
In my day we'd have laughed at him and taunted mercilessly. The sympathizers and lightweights that showed up to support this kind of idiocy would have been herded into his detention camp with him and we'd have fired up the gorram showers!
Instead I see a bunch of boot-licking weak-willed apologists telling the little scab how they were wrong and asking please sir for his forgiveness. What happened to the Virtue spirit of drama? What happened to feeling life with your battle gonads (or ovaries) and taking no guff from the whining and the illiterate? Are things in that dire of straits that you feel the need to be nice to everyone to such a degree?
Is that a jelly donut in your footlocker boy?
*squeezes the jelly donut in Minimal's face*
Don't look at me. I didn't pay attention to the drama queen.

Yeah, 's me but I wouldn't necessarily say I'm back. I re-upped for a month because I needed something to do. I probably won't be around the forums much, but I saw you were back and figured I'd drop in to complain for a second.
Life is interesting around here. On the other hand, not having a job atm is shite. I hate not working.
Yeah, unemployed sucks.
Might I recommend this really cool book about business and career guidance.

Ya know DDO is free but noone plays it cause its still kinda slow.
Nice to have you back to complain, I'll whip up some pamcakes special just for you.
Yeah...I wandered away for a while. Travelled to some other lands. Azeroth, couple of other places. Still not as nice as Paragon City. So I came back. Some things are different, some not.
Anyways,
/e sets out pamcakes
glad you came to visit. Even for a little bit. Feel free to holler at me in game.

Hi all
You know what other places are like Rook. Nice to visit, but they aren't home. Kinda like that in Aion at the moment, it's a nice pretty place to visit, but man are the locals nasty... Botters and gold sellers are running rampant, and you really can't even squelch them short of turning off all communications with everybody. I'm honestly surprised they haven't resorted to having bots standing in public areas advertising in local yet.. they've covered every other avenue of communication. And no sign of any work being done by NCSoft to combat this either.
Then the other players are pretty nasty to each other too. I've run into some nice people there, but the troll factor is way way higher than any other game I've ever played before. Could be because it's new, but I've been using that excuse since open beta, and both it and my patience are wearing pretty thin.
It's a good game, but ultimately nothing special. Between rude people and bots in your face constantly I begin to regret logging in to play... Hardly a good model. And they really don't seem to care as a company about dealing with the situation. I've got the free month until the end of October though... Unless I see some serious improvements to the situation, I doubt I'll bother to keep playing.
It makes me wonder how and why CoH has been so good and successful when they treat their other games like crap. I guess we have the folks at Paragon Studios to thank for that.

Good Morning Twipper. Looking snazzy as always. The flamethrower tops it. :P
Yah. I don't get how they didn't think people would bot all over the place.
Sorry the locals are nasty. Maybe they are all roleplaying Asmodeans?

pbbbt on the Asmodian comment. I actually see it all the servers I've played on and especially on the forums, which are just horrible in all senses of the word.
Technically speaking the launch was pretty smooth. Though the whole severe throttling of the server population was both smart and stupid. With only two starting areas (one on each side), having everyone in one zone from the start would have been horrible, so throttling the servers as much as they did allowed those lucky enough to log in a relatively decent experience.
On the other hand, they only allowed a fraction of their known player base to log in. Like selling a million tickets for a 10,000 seat concert. Just. Bad. Idea. So if you were lucky enough to get in, great. If not.. I hope you like queues, because you had to sit through up to 6-8 hours worth of them and hope you weren't disconnected in that time, like I was the first day. And then people would abuse the horrible player store system to go AFK while they worked or slept, holding their place in game so other people couldn't log in, all so they could avoid the queue times.
That's got better now. They put a 30 minute limit on stores now, though people have already found a way around that. And they opened up the throttling on servers so queues only exists/are bad on the most populated realms at prime time.
Dealing with botters, advertisers and just rude people is non-existent though. And that has become very obvious to everyone, so they're having a field day ruining the experience for everyone else. Not only have they not taken steps to stop it, or even announced they were working on it, they could hardly have made a more friendly environment to this sort of thing if they had tried. It's very disheartening and so poorly handled.
