Success!

Got all of my bits in the case before I had to head to work. The most time consuming bit was actually cleaning out the old bits >_>

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...okiee/husk.jpg

But the nice thing about my case, once it is cleared out, it is wide open to put bits in ^_^

Like monster head sinks o.0

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...iee/copper.jpg

But it is soooo pretty in there, and disperses heat so nicely, with it's large, speed controlled fan.

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...okiee/newb.jpg

I forgot to take more progress shots as I put the other bits in there, as it was getting down to the wire before I had to head to work. I made it through the installation of all the hardware without problems, or injury. But I did end up smashing my finger at work, that doesn't count though : p

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...kiee/smash.jpg

And everything booted up just fine the first run when I got home, and Vista installed smoothly, if not really slowly >_<

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...e/vistas-1.jpg

Everything is up to date now, and CoH FINALLY finished installing to my new SSD. I should have been asleep two hours ago, and all I want to do is try out Team Jupiter with custom power colors >_>

Heh, if I turn it all the way up, it kind of sounds like one on boot up >_>

Oh, and sweet jeebus, they're back!

I apologize for the screen shot of doom, but they are so pretty, I could almost cry! AND, I can run them all at normal settings, and the main window at max settings. So fast, so smooth...don't want to go to work tonight o.o

I've used that sink on several builds; it does do a nice job although it's a bit of a PITA to mount. Of course, I'm told that the hardcore people use water cooling....

<---Decidedly not hard core. Consider water cooling all the time, not willing to risk an entire machine to my startling ability to roll critical failures on my skill checks >_>

Indeed. There's always the super-hard core option of liquid nitrogen... that'll add considerable horsepower to the rig. Wasn't there a write up on that on Tom's Hardware a couple of years ago? The joys of running with your processor at -200 degrees

Don't feel bad about not having water cooling. I also thought it would be good and looked into it for my computer -- I found out a lot of helpful info.

Unless you're overclocking your CPU, and making it put out more heat than the chip normally does, you don't need anything more than the standard CPU fan and heatsink that comes with the processor. Even a top of the line Quad-Core Extreme Edition running at the highest available stock speed is fine out of the box with its default fan.

All those high-priced TEC Chillers, Water Cooling Systems, etc., etc. have value only if you're overclocking and running your CPU in the red and thus need that extra cooling power.

La is for the win!

Still no real game time in yet. But did a little more testing >_>

Varying degrees of wrongness.

With the graphics on standard settings for all six windows, I was using about 95% of my six gigs of RAM on average. Processor not pushed at all. Hmm, need more accounts, and more RAM...why? Because I want to try.

Is it so wrong to want to be an entire team of eight?

When I wake up, may be I will actually get around to nabbing some of that sweet DXP : p

Focused primarily on getting these two to 50:
