Server problem and blackness

When I enter my username and password everythings good..but when the servers pop..no matter which one i click, they all tell me the same thing.

"Wrong game version, run patcher and reconnect, server 1600.20090902.5T2, client could not find registry key."

I just bought it last night.

also..i just got like.. a $70 Nvidia graphics card from best buy and installed it. Now, even though i thought the graphics would be way more kickass..the screen turns black instead. I can hear the music at the login page, but the screen is black.

The game needs to be updated to the proper version to connect to the server. I'm not sure why the updater isn't. Not sure if it's a problem with steam or not. You should be running the game via the updater, CoHUpdater.exe in the game's folder.

You also need to update your video card driver. Version 186 is known to cause a black screen with CoH/V.

ok, i updated the graphics driver and no more black screen... but when i click to enter a server i still get this error message.

I am having this problem too, even after a clean install of the game. I don't mean to resurrect a buried thread, but was a solution ever found?

You could try forcing the updater to do a verify of your files. That ought to make it update you to the proper version.
