Update on my wife

To all of my friends on Liberty:

For those that don't know, my wife has been ill since July 10 (two days after we bought our first house) with a severe case of pancreatitus. For a while, the doctors were giving her a less than 40% survival rate.

Good news is that she has been home since late August. She has all of the vent and feeding tubes removed and has been resting these last few weeks. Tomorrow, she will go back to the hospital to have her gall bladder removed via laperscopic (at least that is where they will start).

Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Leigh is getting a bit uneasy as she has been having bad dreams (like dying during the surgery) for the last few nights.

Thank you all so much for the messages and thoughts both in and out of game. This is truely the best server in the game.

Hey Matt,
You probably don't know me, I usually play on Guardian. I happened across your post in my subscribed threads. I wish both you and your wife the very best and hope everything goes well.

Matt, I'm having trouble to find words to respond to this. Hopefully things get better for both you and your wife. And yes, you're both in my thoughts and prayers.

Aside from that, after reading your post, and rereading it a few more times, all I can think of saying is 'That sucks.'

The very best of luck to you and your wife Matt. My prayers are added to all the others for a quick, easy surgery and fast and painless recovery. Get back to the game soon. As an incentive, 2XP weekend next week so tell you wife to hurry up and get better.

Hey Matt, I prayed for your wife and you. God answers sincere prayers. You and your wife have nothing to worry about now And with the prayers of the others, everything will be fine. Keep the faith man.

If time doesnt heal, God does, always.

Matthew 18:19 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on Earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

Jeremiah 33:6 "Behold, I will bring you health and cure, and I will cure you, and will reveal unto you the abundance of peace and truth."

Isaiah 53:4-5"Surely He hath borne our griefs (Lit. sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (Lit. pains) yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and by His stripes we are healed."

Mark 16:17-18"And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name . . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."

Romans 8:32"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?"

My wife had pancreatitisten years ago. It sucked. Was in the hospital, but no where near as severe as you describe. Good news is that she came through it just fine long term. The bad news is that there just isn't much you(husband) can do to fix the problem as it is up to the docs.

Good luck.

Just adding a bit in here. I'm recovering from surgery myself so I can understand what the two of you are going through. Fortunately, my situation wasn't quite as severe but I can offer some words of advice.

TIME.
Recovery takes time. I've been told that it can take up to one month per day a person is in the hospital to ever really feel "normal" again. There will be good days and bad days. Big leaps forward and several steps back. There will be tears, and anger, and frustration, and hopelessness that it will ever get better. Eventually, it WILL get better.

Strength to her, strength to you.

I went through bilateral clear cell renal carcinoma (cancer on both kidneys) so, I can empathize with your wife.

I wish you the best and a speedy recovery.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Leigh got to come home about 24 hrs after the surgery and is doing fine now (although a bit sore).

Again, thank you all.
