Core /Fire Armor Powers?

So I was considering respec'n my lvl 50 MA/Fire scrapper to go into Blaze mastery and as I was doing so, I realized I hadn't played her much since hitting lvl 50. This posed a problem as I hadn't taken some of the powers in /fire to tell if they were worth grabbing at all. Obviously I know the two shields, healing flames, and firey embrace is worth getting. Also temp protection is the worst power in the game atm. But which is better? Burn or Blaze Aura? Is consume worth keeping if you never really run out of stamina due to procs and whatnot?

Opinions anyone?

Blazing Aura is much better than Burn (this isn't to say you can't get both). Consume isn't worth keeping if you haven't any end troubles. Temp prot isn't so bad if you have a free power pick laying around : slight increase to cold res, slight slow res and a free slot to stick a Steadfast KB or +3def in there.

I am using a /fire now, and Blazing Aura is pretty great! After a firey embrace (and or whatever else) its puts some some good numbers. Burn has sort of limited uses as it causes a fear effect and will cause the enemies to run around a bit. It also breaks immobilize and provides protection for a duration, this helps if you dont have combat jumping as /fire does not appear to have immobilization protection. Burn works better if there is a tank around, or if others on the team have taken agro and need a short reprieve.

I believe a guide on here says [about temp protection] "provides slow protection, which is uncommon". It also can hold a -KB, which /fire needs.

No. Fire Armor does have Immobilize Protection/Resist. It's just that it's in Burn.

That is what he said himself in the sentence you quoted right before the part you bolded.

Burn is a great power if you use it well, it works well when used with Blazing Aura (as the taunt makes them run back into burn when they run away) and spectacularly with AoE immobilizes.

Don't forget it can be used defensively if there's too many melee foes beating you up, although on Scrappers this won't happen too often

I know. He says what it does, then he goes to say /FA doesn't appear to have immobilize resistance. So I was just clarifing for other's sake.

It was more in how he worded it.
