Correction: Shia's winning immunity means exactly what it has always meant... he was safe from elimination, no more, no less.

Even though someone dropped out, that doesn't really make it better that everyone else got immunity as well. That's pretty crappy in my opinion.
This is wrong too. No one else got immunity at all.

Winning immunity is a reprieve... it lets you know that, for the next 30 days, no matter what other craziness
happens you cannot be eliminated and for the whole next month the pressure is off.
As long as you turn in anything, even a crappy piece that would get no votes, by the deadline you're safe.

Only Shia had this reprieve as Lousy Day (unless I missed it) never posted early that he was dropping
out and so Aprosaath and Foo were still under the impression the whole month that they could be
eliminated if their piece didn't get enough votes. When the deadline came and went with no
piece from LD then they knew they were safe but it was already over by that time and
they had submitted their pieces already without ever knowing they couldn't lose.

Had LD posted "Hey I'm dropping out this month" before Apro and Foo submitted pieces, thereby
letting them know they had no chance of being eliminated this last month, then they would have
had the same reprieve as Shia and you would have a case.

Since he didn't give any notice, only Shia knew he was safe and your logic fails.

This is simply wrong. If you want to vote for Shia, vote for Shia.
On this we agree and I also addressed this in an earlier post to this thread.

No, the fact remains that no matter what anyone submit this month, they were all guaranteed to make it through. *That* is immunity and everyone shared it equally. Nobody was granted anything above or below anyone else and that's the issue I have. What's the point of winning a prize in a competition when that same prize is given to everyone else?

You might have a different opinion than I do, but my logic is sound. A competition between people was had, a winner was chosen and promised a reward that separated them from the others. That was not granted.

Going by this method, I could get 12 friends to enter the contest and have each one drop out every month to insure that I made it into the final. There's no contest at that point. I've said before that we should really just have an Art Jam at this point, because this forum can't handle a hard rule set.

Case in point:

These rules mean nothing. There's no point in having them. If people want to play nice with everyone else then that's fine, but we shouldn't even bother with rules in the first place. Call them guidelines or suggestions and let everyone in to participate for the whole year. What was the point of eliminating artists again? So that we deny them access to this event only to turn around and play "let's pretend that didn't happen" with other entrants at random? It's unfair to those who were eliminated previously as well as to those who are still in.

I am if anything a moderator at heart. In all the years I've been running boards and keeping the peace, I've learned that you simply cannot have a lapse in judgment because of personal feelings. Rules are there for a reason and if you put them into place, you absolutely must follow them. If you don't want to follow them, then just don't have them. You cannot have it both ways. Someone always gets caught in the cracks. People already have this year.

If I'm not mistaken there is no prize for winning. None. Nothing. The entire point of this thing is to have fun and enjoy some excellent art from people in the community.

It doesn't even matter if you're eliminated because you can post a piece that's themed with the month anyway!

In other words...lighten up.

Here's the important thing to remember: I'm going to act like I won this no matter what, so it's all pretty much moot anyway.

Ya know......I am getting so sick of this **** seriously.....
How about this quote:

Quote:
Rules: What will get you disqualified this month?

NOTHING! THAT'S WHAT!!!!!!

Or how about this:

I am running this contest. Me. Not WE. Not anyone else. If you don't like how it's ran don't vote. Don't look. Don't comment.Don't participate. Shut the **** up. Done.

No. I'll post where I want to and when I want to.

I was all set to leave it alone until someone else wanted to play again. If you want avoid all of this, run your contest fairly and accurately.

All set to leave this alone? Seriously? You do nothing but ***** about the way this contest is ran. I constantly read your negative posts about how you don't like this or you don't like that or that this isn't fair or that isn't fair. However as far as i can tell from the contestants they are OK with it the way it is.

Look i can't control who stays in the game and who leaves. But as far as what i have the rules listed as. I am being fair. You can have your opinion and be as concerned about whatever it is you want to be concerned about but in the end. My contest. My rules. I run it my way. End of story.

All this complaining and really there is no prize at the end. No money. No yellow title ingame. No influence. NOTHING except a silly title. Do yourself a favor and think of it as a artjam.
