Customization in terms of Color effects?
When do you think we'll get real customization on things like Aim, Buildup and perhaps Power Pools and Epic/Patron powers?

I think Aim and Buildup get color alterations. The only thing I've seen that you can't change color for is the Granite Armor on Stone Armor sets.

For powers like Aim and Build Up, BaB has said that their theme colors (yellow for ACC buffing, red for DAM buffing, etc) will stay on those powers, so you, and more importantly, others, can see what you've just done. The secondary F/X can be changed, though.
Ancillary and Patron pool powers are coming later, as are general pool powers like Hasten. The biggest hold up is the Kheldians and things like Granite, where it's not the colors, but swapping character models. He's trying to come up with a better way of doing it for those kind of powers.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Alternate animations and nearly all primary and secondary powers customizable, is not a bad start.
I'm sure they'll get to travel powers and so on in an update or two.

Granite is the one power in SA that's not customizable yet, the rest of the set can be altered, which is I'm sure what you were trying to say.

So seeing as some ice and fire animations are almost identical, wouldn't it be just as silly to say someone couldn't tell what that was because of the color changes?

I'm not sure it matters, if you're paying attention to buffs/debuffs/etc, it's going to show up on the bar to the left. There's no reason for it to stay one color and not change.
So you can't tell that RA has gone down because it's no longer blue and green?
Silly reasons IMHO.
Epic's and pools I'm good with waiting for. Not allowing me to customize the entire set AIM/BU is just silly.
...you are.

i'd bet that keeping the buff effect colors consistent has as much to do with making it so that other players can see what the power did when activated as making it so you can. It's the same reason that a number of powers in the armor sets cannot have their effects turned off. Not every player has the time or familiarity with buff icons to be able to glance at the corner and instantly recognize what happened, but now every player can change power colors.

Far from a significant issue in my opinion. i'm pretty confident that pool powers will be getting the same customizability in future updates, but we've gotten today is already a nice lump added to the awesomesauce that is CoX. (Or whatever hyperbolic gravy/pudding/sauce metaphor you want to use.)
Dr. Todt's theme.
