PipeSqueek forgot to mention a couple of things.

We've bypassed the routers, directly into the modem and it still has problems.

This is affecting multiple computers (3 to be exact), and it also affects MSN Messenger (But not MSN Web Messenger, go figure).

Have contacted the ISP Hughesnet who said it's not their issue, and that it's probably a proxy issue. Went to Internet Options > Connection Tab > LAN Settings, no proxy settings there, and I don't know where else a proxy might be set up, so this sounds fishy to me.

Damage Proc Mini-FAQ

Just noticed Damage Proc Mini-FAQ wasn't working with new forums, it's been updated.

1. Update your Graphics Card driver.

2. Go to manufacturer's website and check for new drivers for your motherboard chipset/CPU.

3. Check out this thread, Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines

Then post the results of this program:

  • HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

Also, HughesNet (being the DirecTV satellite ISP) will give you quite a bit of lag.

It should still be playable, but this is always something to consider when dealing with any network issues when using HughesNet.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

For an update.

The Updater connects then just like the game disconnects.

I've dealt with the lag for 2 years, it's not that, I dont' know why but I can't stay connected, and Hughesnet swears it's not them.

As an update, I tried to use updater to get the last 14 megs of I16, and it connects then boom it disconnects just like it does when I'm in game.

These programs are running in the background: 2 antivirus programs (!!), Yahoo, itunes, web cam, skype, msmessenger, walmart (?!), quicktime, windows update, nVidia 'helper' programs, et al.

I'm surprised you were able to play the game at all previously.

You've let too much invasiveware infect your start-up registries. Any one of them, or a combination of them might be the cause. Also, you've used up 4/5 of a 116 Gig Hard Drive, so, I'm guessing the .dlls are a mess, too.

Also, your graphics card is a generation too old and 4 levels of sophistication too low to really run a intensive 3-D game (it should be a nVidia 6600 or better). That you were able to run CoH at all in the past is remarkable.

So, you need to deep clean your computer:

1. Make sure you have a Windows reboot and install disk.

2. Back up all your data.

3. Reformat your hard drive.

4. Reinstall Windows, and update it. Update all drivers.

5. Reinstall your applications and run HijackThis after each one to see who's intruding into your start up registry.

6. Reinstall your data.

If that doesn't get CoH up and running, then you need a new Graphics Card.

Funny thing is, my brand new laptop also has the same issue and it runs COX fine on other people's networks.

and the only reason most of that was running was I was trying to find someway to contact Natsuki

ZM, I do really have the utmost respect for you, and that's why I suggested Pipesqueek to post here.

But.. It's not the video card. The issue is "Lost connection to mapserver", it affects multiple computers besides the one see here. One of those computers works on other networks, but not when directly into the modem (This is information I just recently found out). I am hoping that this time with Pipesqueek contacting their ISP and requesting a supervisor that this issue will finally get sorted out.

Well, it's going to be difficult to troubleshoot a network connection problem on a computer which, in many cases, would ordinarily have trouble running CoH with a perfectly working network connection. Regardless of the network, that computer configuration is a mess and will give you problems running CoH and should get cleaned up.
