Vs. Carnies?

Katana/Elec scrapper, build for some slight melee/lethal def, and with DA you will more then cap your melee/lethal def, and have an end recovery power to boot!

A /Regen scrapper with Stamina and Quick Recovery won't have a problem with the endurance drain from Carnies. If they get hit, they blink and its back. At least I never had an issue except if I didn't kill a sapper fast enough. Thats when I use my /Electric Armor brute. She laughs at them.

I can't say for 100% certain how it'll play out on Tankers and Scrappers, but my Elec/Elec Brute counts Carnies among the enemies she can comfortably defeat in spawns set to 8, ranging from -1 to +2 levels. I've defeated maps set to +3 or +4 levels without dying or using accolades or temporary powers, but I was relying heavily on Power Surge, and burning inspirations faster than new ones were coming in.

So, yeah. On Scrappers, Electric Armor should do fine. Just focus your end drain and whatever mitigation your primary and pools offer on the bosses.

I have a lvl50 who's a Katana/Regen. She's the one I had to drop Carnie missions on to get through the first arc.

Generally, you are correct, it wasn't the End drain (except in rare circumstances where I'd kill 3 or more at the same time... ^^;; )

The problem she had was, as usual, with the bosses (and higher) of the arc. Who could pretty much take her apart as soon as look at her.

I am still undecided on /Dark vs. /Elec. I've tried a low-level version of both on Test, and they both rock so far... and both sound like they will be absolute terrors in the late game PvE...

I'll just have to see how it goes.

I can't speak for /Elec, but my BS/DA is absolutely unkillable unless I'm playing like an idiot. If I'm paying attention he never dies.

As far as your /Regen goes. The problem you were probably having with MI bosses is the Spectral Terror they throw out. DA won't have a problem with that, IT laughs at fear powers. The massive to-hit debuff the Ring Mistresses hit you with might be an issue, but that's an issue for just about everyone.

Not even on the Brute, who sucks a lot of end and is fitted with plenty of endrec enhancements to make up for it - if he was seriously being drained, I would notice.
If you run Rooted, your Brute has good end drain protection. But you might not run Rooted.

Really??? My BS/Regen doesn't break a sweat with a carnie unless its a master illusionist who is a level or two higher than him and even than I can pop dull pain and instant healing and go to town. The worst part of that fight is having a dark servant in your face with those -acc debuffs.

Other than what everyone else said about Scrappers, I find my controllers have a mostly easy time with carnies.

Well, i16 is here, and I have started my (hopefully) Carnie Killer - a BS/Dark scrapper.

To be honest, I was all set to make a BS/Elec. Had the costume, the name, and my finger over the final button... when I realized something.

So I quickly dumped the /Elec, and rolled up a /Dark. And entered the game... and found that my intuition was correct. A horde of new toons were on, and at least 1/3 of them were either Elec/ Tanks, or /Elec Scrappers.

So, BS/Dark Scrapper for me. Now, to make a few builds and play around with the concept...

Thanks, all!
