How to beat Hami on the blue side by OSHA and Destiny
¯\(°_o)/¯
I mine as well post how i did mine as well, it is almost the same as what osha did, however there are a few changes.
Yellow taunt team MUST have 6, enh, my raids had to go with 5 and even 4 sometimes, if you have a smart hami taunt he can grab some yellow mitos close to the start of the scrapper team. Also they dont really need a tp rez because i always put the tanks out of the goo when we fought hami until the last round just incase they drew aggro, some did it on accident.
Scrappers are always the most to come out so i never really had a problem with getting more than one team, same with blasters. Just give them some extra buffage, a dark def would be nice incase they wiped.
Which brings me to the blasters, i always had two teams, one team that spread out ontop of hami with six blasters, all having flight or a pack and they just desttracted the blue mitos trying to keep the chain lighting off of everyone else now that you have to break los for it to go away. They had the rest of the team filled with buffers and healers, going around helping them out. The other blaster team went around as one killing off the mitos.
I usually lead the cont team, pretty easy, just make sure to call targets and keep the teams lead on the right target. I usually called blues afterwards to keep it together.
I never worried much about hami taunt becuase SEMI did it for me, but anyting with knockback will do, granite doesnt help anymore than anything else since it doesnt resist hami dmg, the good thing about stone is that it has that plus regen. AB, ab, and other Abs.
---------------------------
My count down went
30 seconds to the 1 min countdown
1 min count down single target buffs
(open the search window to hit everyone with SB, etc.)
30 sec, aoe buffs now
25 tanks pop eoe and go in
(get the nod from the tank team lead)
Everyone in the goo
**HOW TO MAKE a macro**
Easy peasy,
type:
/macro 1min request 1 minute, Spam your Aoe Buffs!
So the /macro is what it is, 1 min is the name, request is where you want to put it in chat so you can change it to whatever you want like broadcast, etc. And 1 minute, spam your AoEs buffs is what you want to say.
----------------------------
The biggest thing is calling it when hami spawns
75% is 35,340 hps, so i called it at 37
50% is 23,560 hps, so i called it at 25
25% is 11,780 hps, so i called it at 13
----------------------------------
Extra info:
One of the things that gets on my nerves most is when people that should be healing and buffing a team sit at the rock, the leader will call when you should leave as the tper.
I also liked for team leaders to be on vent so there was never any confusion, if you dont have one thats not a problem though,
Spawning Giant monsters can take anywhere from 8 to 100, so take your time, but dont rely on killing monsters for EoEs beucase when they are gone, they are gone out of the zone.
Otherwise just listen to your leader, follow instructions, and be polite
Obviously there are times when you don't have 6 tanks for the yellow team. The emphasis I was putting on was that they MUST have taunt. There are tanks that don't take it.
I really don't see much of a difference in your strat other than you had another blue team harassing the blues.
SEML was an awesome taunt tank, he led our Taunt team and yellow tank teams all the time. Not only was he an officer in our SG but a good friend as well. However, he is no longer playing and the only tank I know that is still around that knows Hami is Kellian.
I figured since the original Hami thread got deleted it was time to post another one. As we are no longer playing this is the most we can do to help the community. Good luck Infinity and happy raiding.
Yep, it was time, maybe this will push some new people into leading raids, anyone can do it, just take the time to read more than one persons take on it, make the binds, pick leads before the time, get the EoEs and keep everyone on track.
If you have a better way to complete the raid, or just another take on it, or even something we left out, feel free to leave it here so Infinity will know about it
I might as well post mine.
Guide: How Hardcore gamers would do a Hami-raid Post i9:
*Disclaimer* The guide below is assuming the following:
1. That everyone at the raid is on a voice chat server
2. That everyone at the raid is skilled at all aspects of the game
3. That everyone at the raid not only understands their role, but the roles of others at the raid
4. That everyone at the raid has a good connection and computer to handle the lag
The above disclaimer might sound elitist, and it is. This guide is for the most epic players who want to get a raid done quickly, without the use of nukes/shivans/Rikti heavies.
Teams - 7 raiders
[u]Main taunt team[u]
2 WP tanks - If WP is unavailable, use the following order: Stone, Invul, Ice, Shield. Fire and DA should not be used here.
3 Empaths for Heal bots
1 Empath as CM bot - this empath isn't tied to 100% to the taunt team - its just the easiest place to put them. This is your most skilled empath at the raid, their job is to keep CM on every member of the taunt team and every Empath they can find. They also do AB on the tank
1 Kin - so AB is perma without IOs
Team is self explanatory - tank taunts hami, other tank taunts blues and hami if he dies. Rinse repeat
Yellow taunt team * 6 - 12 raiders
1 Tank - Preferred WP, Stone, Invul, Ice in that order
1 Empath controller
Each tank gets one yellow mito - No EoEs are needed with perma AB + Personal Healbot
This team can be broken up into 3 tanks 6 emps - assuming light on tanks. Each tank would get 2 yellows and the double healbot would be enough to not need EoEs
Damage team 1 - Scrappers - 8
6 Scrappers - In this order: BS, Fire, Spines, Kat - Secondary: anything with KB protection,
1 Empath
1 Kin
Used just like normal raids
Damage team 2 *2 - Blasters - 16
6 Blasters: Primaries in this order - Ice, Fire, Psi. Secondary must be /EM
1 emp
1 kin
Blasters will Total Focus yellows in concert with scrappers. With PB+Aim+BU+Fort, ranged attacks can hit yellow mitos for follow up
Controller team - Remaining 7
Secondary doesn't matter, but anything that offers -res is best. Primary should be fire/ice/earth
Hold spiking in same order as damage team, just in case of a failed spike.
Raid Flow
In a simplified format, here is the order of things
00:00 - Hami Spawns - One minute gather time
01:00 - Initial buffing starts - One minute
02:00 - Tanks to positions
02:10 - Controller team hold spikes closest green
02:15 - Damage teams 1 & 2 & 3 spike first yellow - One shot
02:20 - Damage teams 1 & 2 & 3 spike second yellow - One shot
02:25 - Controller team hold spikes closest green to third yellow
02:30 - Damage teams 1 & 2 & 3 spike third yellow - two shot (aim + BU are down now)
02:45 - Damage teams 1 & 2 & 3 spike forth yellow - two shot
02:46 - Controller team hold spikes closest green to 5th yellow
03:00 - Damage teams 1 & 2 & 3 spike fifth yellow - One shot
03:05 - Damage teams 1 & 2 & 3 spike sixth yellow - One shot
03:06 - Controller team hold spike first green
03:07 - Damage teams 1 & 2 spike green
03:07 - Damage team 3 attempts to spike + Follow up on a blue - this might not be successful
03:10 - Controller team hold spike first green
03:11 - Damage teams 1 & 2 spike green
03:15 - Controller team hold spike first green
03:16 - Damage teams 1 & 2 spike green
03:20 - Controller team hold spike first green
03:21 - Damage teams 1 & 2 spike green
03:25 - Rest of Blues are cleared out by damage teams
04:00 - Attack hami to 3/4s life
05:00 - Hami is 2000 HP above 3/4 - Tanks to taunt spots, Everyone huddle in middle for RA cast, Everyone who doesn't have CM pop EoE's, Tanks pop EoE's
05:05 - Mito's spawn - emps to their tank Damage teams to Spike target one, Hold teams to Spike target one
Repeat the rest of the raid from 02:10
20:00ish - Hami is dead
Spike with your heaviest attack available, get its recharge down to under 7 seconds. Listen to your target callers, Always follow up.
*The above is done tongue-in-cheek and is a look at how old Hardcore PvPers would do a hami raid. i9 hami raids are as close to PvP as PvE can get, in terms of intense buffing, cordinating attacks, and team focused game play.
Although the above is possible, I doubt it will ever be done this way. *
Here is how it works:
You need a yellow taunt team, a yellow attack team, green team, blue team and hami taunt.
Yellow taunt team: 6 tanks...I can't emphasis this enough, they have to have taunt. Any tank will work however Fire tanks since they have no knock-back protection save acrobatics will need ID and honestly I'd rather have either invuln or stone tanks. They must taunt from range outside of the perimeter of the goo. The closer they are to the yellow mito the more splash your scrappers will get and will ultimately kill them. The biggest thing for start is that those tanks need to pop their eoes and get to their respective spots as quickly as possible. If all goes well the tanks shouldn't need more than 2 eoes per bloom. And only the tanks need eoes. If you have any extra tanks then send them in to taunt blue mitos....don't have them attack they'll pull aggro and kill whomever is around them.1 kin either def or controller and 1 empath or rad.....either will work but they must have TP and Rez.
Yellow attack team: We prefer 2 teams of Scrappers....each need at least 3 scrappers and 1 or 2 to tp and rez. A kin is also good to have on this team as well. Basically think of Hamidon as a clock face. Send your scrapper teams, one clockwise and the other counter clockwise to the yellows. Basically if you have 2 teams of scrappers that gives them only 3 mitos to kill for each team. Send one to the SE yellow and one to the SW yellow. See the link to the chart below. Communication is key for all of this.
Green team......You need bare min 5 controllers all with single target hold...I can't emphasis this enough. This team will make or break a raid. Again, whatever single target hold they have, spam it on the green. Ice and stone holds work best but even char will work. Once its held it dies quickly. Tell them not to worry about killing one til the yellows are down. Again, spam that single target hold. This team also needs one person to tp and rez. Have them start with the green closest to the ground right by the SE yellow mito and then go around counter clockwise. See link to chart below.
Blue team.....made of blaster and defenders and khelds with ranged attacks. Have them focus on one blue mito...generally I like them to take the one closest to the green team. They also need one person to tp and rez. A lot of times a well co-ordinated blue team can kill most of the blues while the yellows are being killed.
Taunt team....2 stone tanks-preferably but Invulns will work too. And as many empaths to spam AB and RA's on that tank. The more AB's he has the less EoE's he'll need. Kellian is an expert at this and if he's around ask and he'll taunt for you.
Countdown....for the best results you need at least 5-6 RA's and a couple of AM's.
1 min.............everyone to buff spot, single target buffs please AB, SB, CM, Shields and any single target sonic buffs.
20 sec...........RA's and AM's
15 sec...............tanks pop Eoe's and head in
10 sec................oil slick now (if you have it)
5 sec....................FS on oil slick (if you have oil slick)
Everyone in goo.........provided your tanks have aggro you can send everyone in.
Once your yellows are down, then have the green team leader call targets of the greens and have the controllers still single target holding and the rest of everyone else hitting the greens with whatever dmg. Remember the greens die quickly once held. If there are any blues left then kill them and then its on to hami. Remember he respawns at 75, 50 and 25 percent. Keep a close eye on his health because you'll need to call everyone out before he respawns, the last person out should be your taunt tank.
