Auto Complete/No XP Option

Currently, we have the option to autocomplete a mission once a week, getting the mission bonus as if we had actually done it. Which is fine, as far as it goes.

Last night, I had a kill all on a huge map. As usual, on a map that size, that last mob is a royal pain to find. I went over the map painstakenly TWICE unstealthed - never did find it. After half an hour, I gave up and went on to other missions, petitioning that mission. The GM refused to help and told me to try the mission over again. I didnt care much for the response - but I guess most GMs would assume you're lying. Shrug.

What I'd like to have is another option to auto complete a mission at ANY time, with the understanding that this is a zero reward completion - you just get credit for the completion, allowing you to move on to the next mission in the arc. Anyone who's played anytime is very familiar with mobs being imbedded in walls/ceilings, etc. This would be a nice option to get past these issues without GM intervention. ( or to get past missions like the kill 100 Carnies in PI - what a total waste of time )

Just one caveat: This option should be disabled for arcs that result in a badge.

should have petitioned again with the gm's name and explained what happened. you would have had to stay in the mission for the petition for the gm to find the last mob and teleport them to you or you to them. and there is only a 3 day wait to drop a mission incase you didn't know, some people still don't.

They don't assume you're lying. What they do is check to see if any of the mobs are stuck outside the map or in places where they're otherwise unreachable (or if any of the objectives is unreachable). If mobs are on the normal map (no matter how obscure a location (did you check all of the little office rooms?), and are reachable (and there's more then one--i.e., a missed spawn), then the GMs likely won't be able to help.

And yes, you have to stay on the mission to keep the instance active. If you leave the mission to go do other things, the instance closes and resets itself, so the GM can't do anything anyway.

3 days, not 7.

No, they don't assume you're lying. If you leave the map and start another mission, there's absolutely nothing they can do.

The correct way of handling it involves waiting, yes. /petition "Stuck, cannot complete mission," give some info, and just *wait in the mission.* If it's timed, be sure to mention that as well. The GM will come and look for mobs, and most of the time will either teleport you to them or, if they're stuck in geometry or outside the map, will teleport them to you.

Response time tends to depend on how busy things are. I've had GMs show up nearly immediately, and I've had them take half an hour. For a large enough map (or a particularly irritating one,) it would be worth the wait. For a small map, just resetting is likely faster.

Actually, they can. I've had a mission auto completed by a GM before - but that's completely up to the mood of the GM.

Eh, sometimes when I'm having issues with a mission (like I'm trying to find the last hostage on those huge outdoor maps) I'll petition a GM, but keep looking. Most of the time I've found the hostage by the time I get a GM response, but every time they've responded before I've finished, they've either autocompleted it or teleported me next to the objective.

You've had a mission with a missing enemy that you've left and started a new mission over auto-completed by a Game Master? Or was that another type of mission altogether? A GM WILL NOT complete a kill-all mission for you unless that is an absolute last resort. What they will do is find you the enemies you are missing. A GM will most certainly not complete a missing because you claim you can't find the last enemy when the mission isn't even spawned (it despawns after you start another one).

The problem with this (to my mind) is that story arcs award merits. Most people don't bother to run all of the story arcs at a particular level range (since you pretty much have to disable XP to do so) but with this it would bre pretty easy to skip all of the missions in an arc except for the final one in order to get basically free merits. Even assuming that you disabled this functionality during flashbacks I can't see a good way to make it non-abusable during regular story arcs.
