Ancillary Force VS Flame
I really like Flame Mastery. RotP can prevent team wipes due to adds. Char can help start a fight from a safer position. Plus the powers look great, Fire Shield coats you in roaring flame, Bonfire is this massive patch of roiling heat, and the best looking power in the game is RotP. Even Melt Armor looks and sounds fabulous (although, IME, it is an emote that costs 23 endurance).
Why Blasters? Empathy Sucks.

Tactics are for those who do not have a big enough hammer. Wisdom is knowing how big your hammer is.
It's always a toss up. Rise of the Phoenix is an awesome attack and bonfire is just good fun. But don't forget munitions; a sniper ranged nuke that doesn't drain your end.

I was going to ask you this question in game the other day, I play on the Vic Server
Melt Armor shouldnt be a deciding factor with the numbers it is being given:
22.8 end cost
200 sec rchg
10 ft radius
-4.9% def debuff
-8.45% res debuff
Not very impressive.
Yeah... Handy as debuffs are and all, Melt Armor (in the epic pool versions) is pretty worthless. Force mastery got more compelling with Repulsion Bomb, but Fire still has RotP as the core reason to choose it.
Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.

Doesn't mean that LRM isn't a very nice power, just that you might be stretching a bit.
Personally I've never been a huge fan of flame mastery. Not because bonfire, char or fire shield are lacking in any way, but because I have problems with RotP. Sure it's a nice handy power, but I'd rather have a power that will keep me alive instead of one that will bring me back after I'm dead.
Both RotP and FoN can help prevent team wipes, it's pretty much just a matter of taste on your part.

Now that we have access to Repulsion Bomb and Melt Armor it seems both of these Epic sets become even more powerful and useful.
Do you want more Damage/Mitigation/with a Debuff
Do you want more Defence/Damage/Mitigation
I know it is all a matter of preferance and play style so I wanted to everyone's thoughts and what you all feel is the better Epic.
For myself Force is needed for when I solo Nrg/Elec who is pure range
I have my secondary power set more team friendly and will be using Flame
