So I got this BS/Regen and tried to solo against Infernal and she just didn't cut it maybe I'm doing something wrong. don't know
but I want to get a build that can solo AV's. if you think a BS/Regen can do it maybe you can help me out with my build. If there is a better build to do this I'm all ears.

Did you have trouble surviving or DPSing? Seems like with stacked parry you'd be alright...

Both.. lol

Werner I believe has this very same combo and has no trouble soloing AVs, so he would be a good person to ask.

The gist I think is to keep parry stacked as much as possible, use dull pain as your first heal, and use the other clickies whenever you are in trouble.

Werner has a Kat/Regen, not a BS/Regen.

As to the build, my first question would be what attack string are you using? You may be using too much Parry, which is going to hurt your DPS. Even so, you should be able to do enough damage to whittle down AVs, little by little. Endurance sustainability shouldn't be an issue either since you've got both Stamina and Quick Recovery (3.69 end/sec net passive to burn on your attacks means that you pretty much can't run out of endurance).

The other question I would ask would then be what level AVs you're fighting. Soloing an AV more than 2 levels above you is going to be a stretch, not only from the damage department but also in the survivability department. Soloing highly lethal resistant AVs is also going to be a problem (Infernal is pretty resistant to lethal, iirc).

Your best bet is to simply go with an HS>Parry>Hack>Parry attack string. You'll get decent enough damage to start bringing the AVs down (~140 DPS), but it'll still take a while. I don't really see any reason why you'd be having problems.

do i think BS/Regen can do it?: i know it can
is it the best build?: not if you judge by popular opinion, the current "Best" atm is DM/SD

but that doesn't mean you can't preform the same tasks on bs/regen, as Umbral will tell you, with Regen, your primary focus is recharge, your secondary focus is more recharge, your thirtiary focus is even more recharge, and your quadtiary focus is if you cant fit in any more recharge without sacrificeing your build (in other major areas such as damage output, sustainability, accuracy) then go for defense, defense, defense

As Umbral said, I'm Katana/Regen, but Broad Sword/Regen should be capable of similar feats. As far as me having “no trouble soloing AVs”, that depends on what you mean by trouble. Infernal caused me fits and required multiple attempts. He was definitely one of the harder AVs for me. I don't remember having a DPS problem, but I had a hard time staying vertical for long enough to take him out.

I think that Head Splitter -> Parry -> Disembowel -> Hack -> Parry is the chain of choice in this case. It looks like you have the basics for DPS, with an Achilles' Heel in Hack and Head Splitter, and Parry slotted as an attack. You've gone beyond that and even included Assault. You can replace the damage/recharges in Head Splitter and Hack with a straight damages for higher DPS, but I'm not seeing any other significant opportunities.

From a survivability standpoint, you don't have Tough and Weave. I'd also be using Maneuvers instead of Vengeance, but that will require some slots. And if you can somehow pick all that up, then you may have endurance issues to solve, and so on.

Anyway, you'll probably be able to beat some other AVs without any changes. It looks like a pretty solid build to me, just with more AoE and less defense and resistance than I would use on an AV build. You're probably having trouble with Infernal simply because Infernal is trouble.

Also, keep in mind, at best, broadsword vs infernal is going to be a 12-15min fight... it could easily be a 20min fight... As long as his health bar is not going back up to full every health tick (AV's tick 5% health every 15 seconds), you're winning.
