Awarded Veteran Badges Accidentally

I suggest writing a petition first, and don't claim any of the extra rewards. Make sure to specifically ask if you can use the character when you send your petition. They originally didn't want people to use the toons so it was easier for them to datamine it. Attention Heroes and Villains, We’re aware of a problem with certain accounts not receiving earned Veteran Rewards and/or gaining access to certain edition bonuses (like the Pocket D Teleporter or Rocket Pack) that were not purchased, or receiving more Veteran Rewards than they should have. Some reports indicate that Trial Account limitations are being enforced on certain characters, with influence/infamy losses occurring through player trades, sales to NPC vendors or Auction House influence/Infamy redemption. If your character has been affected, please file a /petition or file a Support Ticket through our website with your account name, character name and Server. For debugging purposes, we ask that you do not log back into any affected character. |

At this time the Development Team is still unsure what caused this to happen but it does seem as though powers and items that may have been lost are being corrected automatically. This means that anything that you may have lost access to should have become available again. If you lost access to something that you've paid for that you have not regained access to (powers, costume parts, etc), please let us know as soon as possible and please include the specific items that are missing. We are aware that certain Vet Rewards have also been affected as a result of this issue. While it doesn't appear as though access to Vet Rewards was lost, we are aware of some cases in which players gained access to Vet Rewards that they were not yet eligible for. If you have gained access to such rewards, we encourage you not to use them as they could cause problems with your character in the future when the bug is corrected. It is perfectly fine to use the characters themselves, however. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns. |
I'm not saying to just go use the character anyway, but give them a reasonable time to check on it first before you do.
Thanks for the quote. This happened to my character a week or so ago. I filed a bug report but got no substantial feedback before it was closed (just the generic thank you for reporting this note).

Being with CoX since Jan. 09' I am at my 6 month badge, so to my surprise this morning when I logged on before work, my toon started getting the Veteran Badges up to 30 months worth. I logged off and back on again and they were still there. So, hopefully they can fix this or if not, give me the okay to play my Stalker again which I was getting to enjoy with her wonderful stealth attacks.|

I'm not saying to just go use the character anyway, but give them a reasonable time to check on it first before you do. |
Either on the last issue or the previous issue update, there was some kind of glitch that would accidentally award some toons with extra veteran service badges for time played. There was a posting that said what to do if that happens to one of your toons. I think it said not to play that toon until the problem can be resolved through customer service. Can anyone tell me what that exact posting said again? Thanks for your help.
