Extremely slow downloading

I'm trying to patch up the training room and my updater is going terribly slow... Its only a 227m file and its apparently going to take my 4 hours... because the speed is currently 15.3kb/s

Now I searched all around the forum looking for a solution and it seems I'm the only person with this problem except for one other post that mentioned putting in the -port 13094 thing to the updater... so I did that and nothing happened.

my shortcuts target destination is:
"E:\Program Files\City of Heroes Test\CohTest\CohUpdater.exe" -test -port 13094

Yes.. I have E drive instead of C drive... blame Seagate.

I'm going to try deleting the checksum file thing... because I forgot I hadn't tried.. but if anyone has other solutions if this doesn't work, it would be much appreciated.

Edit: Well I deleted the checksum... now its going at an incredible rate of... 21.6kb/s >.>

Edit2: My mistake... it slowed back down to 15.4 kb/s....

Could be the fact that now every mother son of a gun is currently downloading the files your trying to get too

Edit: that said I'm sitting around 40kb/s so perhaps there's a network fault at hand, but still give it some leeway with regards the high traffic probably on the servers atm

Yeah... I kinda figured that... but I had the same problem a few days ago when I re-downloaded the full game, it went really really slow one day... then the next day I started it up again and it went at a decent speed.

I'm sitting at 8.9 k/sec (DSL connection). For some reason it wants to fix 2.8gig of files, even though I copied over a fresh (ie, current issue 15) install to a test folder. In a mere 87 hours I'll be able to play.

Several times while quitting to do other things and re-downloading the patch my speeds changed, to fix it i just quit and reopened the app. eg it was stuck at 6.2 kb/s for a while there quitting fixed it to around 60-70
