What has happend to the East Coast servers?

I get this alot on Triumph. At home, in Chicago, I am on Comcast and the road I play on an AT&T air card from my palatial van down by the river. I thought it was just the air card but then my main comp did it last time I was home. Lots of rubber banding while solo in mishes and just trying to travel across a zone. If cat girls and crazy people didnt give me the heebie-jeebies I would join some friends on Virtue...yeesh I feel dirty just saying it.

Lag issues: tons of 'em. The rubberbandin' villains, the powers tray UI not working right (specifically, buttons appear active or queued when they're not), animations that only play about 1/3 of the time. Happens most of the time, lately.

Lag: Whole of last week. Netgraph showed frequent red spikes and everything was rubberbanding. Almost unplayable. But after last Friday's downtime the lag was unnoticable and gameplay became smooth like before.
I had the same problem last year and it stopped after 2 weeks or so. When this happens other online games I play have no lag problems, so I'm pretty sure something went funky in the routing between the player and the server and not an ISP problem as a whole.
For my case I think it was due to the earthquakes in Taiwan of recent. As our routing to the U.S. goes through there.
Freedom/infinity etc were a sea of red spikes, unplayable.
Virtue/Justice was 'cut grass'.
After Friday's maintenance, Freedom/Infinity went back to being cut-grass, so something changed at NCSOFT's end.
No chances to my setup, my ISP. During the bad lag I tried resetting my ADSL modem to no avail, was getting many hundreds of 'lost in' packets, and the red was 25%+ of the netgraph.
There was -something- badly wrong.
Been fixed for a few days now tho. Funny people started a thread about it.
