Automatic Enhancement Upgrades
What if the player doesn't have enough influence to upgrade them all at once? Which get upgraded? Or do none of them get upgraded until you can afford to do it in one go?
Arc 55669 - Tales of the PPD: One Hell of a Deal (video trailer)
Arc 64511 - The Wrecking Ball
Arc 1745 - The Trouble With Trimbles
Arc 302901 - HappyCorpse
I imagine that would be something for the developers to decide. If they wanted to go through the trouble they could create prompts and/or buttons for favoring different enhancements, thus:
1) Player enters purchasing window
2) Player clicks *new* "Upgrade Enhancements" button
3) Player chooses which level to upgrade enhancements to (if applicable)
5) Player is given "Are you sure?" prompt
Player doesn't have enough influence.
6)Player is given a reorder list of the enhancements they have that allows them to set priority of upgrades
7) Enhancements at the top of the list are upgraded first, next in the list are upgraded second, etc. until player runs out of influence
Or the Devs could elect to gray out the auto-upgrade button if the player doesn't have enough influence, and perhaps put a subtitle that says, "(Not enough Influence)" beneath the "Upgrade Enhancements" text.
What if you're aOnCaDl like me, and you like to have all Nat/Tech* DO's on that character, but that store only sells Sci/Tech and Mut/Tech?
And if you have any SO's that is not red yet, but the store only sells DO's? You've now upgraded to a higher level enh's that are half as effective.
I just think it would be more work for the Dev's then this QoL would be worth.
Don't get me wrong, I've had times where a character has shot up in levels to where nearly all the slotted enh's were red, and it's a pain in the backside to upgrade.
What would be nice is if the sellers window included your powers and slotting, say all of them in a single column to one side where you could then drag your purchase over and drop it on the appropriate slot. And for the seller to just keep a running total on your purchases until you are ready top 'check out'.
*whatever DO suits your fancy
One of the key points (part of step #6 in the original post, in fact) is that no enhancements are changed. This would be a straight upgrade of current enhancements - if the store doesn't sell the upgrades you have then the option wouldn't be available.
I do like the idea of a drag-and-drop cart, though, and that's certainly a good alternative. I encourage you to post it as its own suggestion. Ultimately all I want is a more user-friendly way of upgrading enhancements. This is simply my take on that.
Call me a noob if you like, but I don't yet know what aOnCaDl or QoL are - perhaps if you would care to explain I can answer your critique better.
QoL is "Quality of Life" -- a common term used for suggestions that have no intrinsic in-game value other than to improve the experience for the player or remove an annoyance. Examples of QoL improvements include the recent ability to rate and add notes to other players, and the Spam button on in-game e-mail.
aOnCaDl is a little more complicated; think about it for a second. Look at just the capital letters, then just the lowercase letters... Red's just circumventing the word filter (which is probably okay in this case because the word is being used in a proper and not-naughty way).
FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.
Roswell got it correct, it's my way of typing analretentive.
I also like to use CbuOllUshGitH in chat with my friends when they're full of it.
Thinkin it would be mighty fine if there were a way to automatically upgrade enhancements. Here's a sample structure:
1) Player enters purchasing window
2) Player clicks *new* "Upgrade Enhancements" button
3) Player chooses which level to upgrade enhancements to (if applicable)
5) Player is given "Are you sure?" prompt
6) All enhancements that can be upgraded are upgraded to selected level. No enhancements are changed.
7) Player is charged for sum of enhancement cost
This would alleviate the tedium of searching for enhancement upgrades, especially those oddball ones at the end.
