Lol wow Cashoo! That outfit is awesome and I agree with Eddy on the Apron. Love the stitches there. I think you are going to give em all a run for their money in the contest

Love the blood splatter idea too. I'll be pulling for ya in the contest!

Haha, thanks Eddy!

TA - Thanks so much! Although, I don't think I'll be entering the contest. I'm waaay too shy and my costume isn't interesting enough lol. If I had the ribs/spine and eye contacts, then I probably would be entering.

Fantastic costume with great detail Cashoo! You should enter, you may be surprized! That just reeks of all kinds of win!

Poppycock!

It's a fantastic costume, don't sell yourself short kiddo.

Nice job on the costume Cashoo. You look sexy, evil, and mortifying all at the same time, very cool.

Wow, nice wok on the costume. It's both sexy and very skeery.
Mortifying even! (Mortificator pun!)

Very cool...You'd be a fool not to enter!

I can tell you after being there for the contest last year, if the same scenario is repeated this year you would have a very strong chance of winning. If you don't want to go up there (totally don't blame you, i used to be extremely shy as well) then maybe bring the outfit and we will find someone to wear it. It should be shown there dangit!

I have to concur, Miss Cashoo. You are such a fount of creativity, and Hero-Con is a great place to showcase your work.

I can certainly understand the part about being shy ((my otherworldly self is not as outgoing as Amerikatt, that's for sure)), but you also have the advantage of being an attractive young lady -- so it's win-win, and can only further enhance the display of such impressive work.

Fan Kitty sez, "I'm in yer contestz winning yer prizez!". Go for it, Miss Cashoo! RAWR!

I'll be putting a few blood spatters on my mask and arms once I get to HeroCon.

Eventually I'll be taking my mask off, because it's terribly hard to breath in.

Whoa... been following this thread because your art is superb bar none... normally I blast the mortys first, but in your case I'll make an exception.

Great costume and drop dead (pun very much intended) gorgeous? I predict a first place...

You HAVE to enter the contest. That is a great costume! Again amazing artist ability!

Brilliant work, Cashoo. It's an amazing gift that your talent also covers costume design, I'm excited to see the ribcage chest piece if you ever choose to make it at a later date. Though I do believe it is an exceptional costume more than worthy of being displayed in the contest...I want you to play in your comfort zone.

Do what you feel is right, dear.

In any case, take pictures! So those of us unable to join our friends at HeroCon can see the fun we missed out on

not entering. you have a bloody (excuse the pun) awesome Vahzilok cossie. seriously what can beat tht.

Oh Miss Cashoo, while I understand that you are shy and afraid of potentially embarrassing yourself in front of a crowd, I can tell you that you have so much talent and skill at play here, that it is a greater shame to keep it under wraps than it would be to share it with a bunch of strangers at a convention.

There's always the possibility of 'what if?'

What if your costume is better than everyone else's?

What if your hard work was good enough to be recognized by the game community?

What if you would have won prize, simply for doing something that you would have done anyways?

What if someone else who's shy too, finally finds the bravery to compete because they were inspired by your example?

If you don't compete, there will be no answer to these potentials.

I understand shyness all too well, as I was severely shy from high school and earlier. But you seem like a person who's all too willing to have fun and go the extra mile to put a little work into a pet project. That's too valuable to bottle up within the confines of yourself. Creating art, costuming and performing are all beautiful things and one of the virtues of humankind that let us share our emotions and experiences together. Please don't keep that from everyone else.

I implore you to try and expand your comfort zones a little. Not only would it help you to grow out of your shell a little, but it would *definitely* make the event one to remember. You'll always remember HeroCon for what it is, but you'd definitely remember it vividly for a long time to come if amongst those memories is the heart pounding adrenaline from showing off your costume at the contest.

In the end, the decision is yours and yours alone to make. But you've already made the costume, you already put the time and work into it. You already have your tickets to HeroCon and you've already made the decision to dress up there. It's just a small step to compete, from there. It's just a large psychological hurdle to clear. I, for one, believe that it is a hurdle that you can surpass.

That truly is a great costume Cashoo. I'm definitely suggesting you enter the contest if you can. I'm going to give you a piece of my philosophy to help you decide. I probably stole this from some movie or something but it holds true for me.

"You can do it and try your best, or not do it and spend the rest of your life wondering what could have been."

Don't do it if you're extremely uncomfortable, but it will be a shame if you don't show it off.

hehe you've put more effort into that costume than a lot of people. I still can't figure out how you came up with using a sharpie and such instead of you know like thread...that's where i would have gone if i were gonna do it.

I don't think you need to put much effort into the skull cap, and rib cage, with all the halloween skelotons you should be able to get one of those and apply the same fx you did to the apron.

Totally awesome costume as is, it's much better than my t-shirt and jeans.

I'll spare you any psycho-babble about shyness and just say that your costume is seriously cat's pyjamas. I insist that you enter it into the contest. If not on yourself then on some hobo who you paid with $3.00 and a bottle of high alcohol content aftershave.

I thought you lived, like, 5 mins from the Con? I thought that staying in the hotel was silly?

Well my friend is with me, and my parents don't want to have people over. Plus, it's a lot more exciting when I'm right in the middle of everything

I always tried to stay in a hotel room when I went to local cons as well, simply because at 1am in the morning, when you're in the throws of a sugar crash and tired from walking miles all day, you really don't want to take that 10 minute drive home. It's also more fun because you don't have to split up from friends at the end of the day.

I am many things, a perv, a jerk, opinionated and ill-tempered. But I've seen quite a bit and learned even more from my own experiences. All I can do as a fellow forum goer is to try and share my wisdom with people who will listen. Being shy is tough to live with. The day when you can throw those chains from yourself is the day when the entire world opens up to you.

Win or lose, success or failure, this will always be a vivid experience to keep with you. Everyone here is rooting for you Cashoo. All the luck in the world to you!

Also, you should find yourself a zombie to "resurrect" in the middle of the con.

Well, as nice as your costume is, Miss Cashoo, I don't know that I could wear it as my PJ's without getting nightmares!

Therefore, YOU wear it and WIN the contest! (*huggle huggles Miss Cashoo!*)

BTW, I thought that Kheldarn was our resident hobo! (*huggles Kheldarn*)
