My NW is great so far....opinions on next power
Do you have Cloaking Device? I just got it and it is so cool. I would have never considered but someone said I should respec just to get that power. I didnt respec but picked it up next level and wow. It should be illegal haha. Stealing missions, cloak, steal it, Then kill what you need to finish mission. Then blow everyone away on your way out. You always have the end mission button to press if you need to eject. I guess you can do that with super speed running to the end too but with cloak you can stealth up to the big boss and hit em with your biggest power, you have a 50/50 chance of stealth bonus damage wich is nice. Anyway, noticed you had placate on list so thought I would tell ya my experience with cloak. Read details of power and check out if you want, its toggle so ya can keep on all the time. You become visible to all when attacking. Have fun.
I like TT: Assault. Constant +15% damage for half the cost of Leadership Assault makes it worth picking up even if you only solo, and if you team up your teammates will love you for it.

Why MA ratings should be changed from stars to "like" or "dislike"
A better algorithm for ordering MA arcs
yep, Have TT Assault, Manuvers too. I agree.
I took all the cones/aoes and single targets. My widow is a mod killer. She opens up with build up, Eviscerate, spin, Pyschic scream, and finishes off with dark burst. Whatever survives get killed with single target attacks. I took TT:A and TT:M, but if you dont want to take an aoe, then maybe get Assualt from teh leadership pool?

you mean Mask Presence? yea i have that and run it most of the time. i like it too but i seldom stealth thru to the end of missions....my NW is way to efficient a killer for that
Personally I would take all the powers you listed as possible choices with maybe the exception of Eviscerate.
This will probably preclude the option of a Patron power pool but your standard powers make those look like cheap parlor tricks anyway. Still if a patron pool is important to you it will limit your choices.
Your TT:XXX powers are all great even for solo work. Leadership could be skipped I guess but there are still a few enemies out there that can be a pain to hit consistantly and TT:L eliminates that problem. The others are just too good not to get even if the only one benefiting from the power is you. End issues shouldn't be a problem at this stage of the game for you. As long as your attacks are properly slotted the only time you'll have any kind of issues is on the big long fights against AV's. FYI, Elude is a good power to help with Endurance problems as it comes with a hefty recovery increase.
Placate is a skipable power but is great for quick kills. Not really much to explain about it, as it basically just gives you a free crit.
Spin and Evis. Spin is great no matter how you look at it. It's a quick animation, looks awesome and hits as hard as lunge or there abouts. If you have 3 or more enemies around it's easily your most damaging attack, and more attacks is always a good thing. I couldn't imagine playing without it honestly and if you pick it up I think you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. Evis is a different story. I wouldn't count on it for any AE damage as the cone is fairly narrow even for cone attacks. When it hits multiple opponents it's kind of like a bonus. The other downside is that Eviscerate has a lengthy animation time. The strengths of Eviscerate are that it's your second hardest hitting attack behind Slash. Can't deny that it hurts when it hits. It is also probably the best looking attack. Still, I feel it's skippable mainly because of the animation time. It feels like it really slows me down when I use it.
Elude - Well it's your Tier 9 god mode power. If you know other Tier 9 powers you likely know what to expect here too so I wont go over it in detail Suffice to say that outside a few situations you probably wont need the defense boost it provides. However, Elude has a secondary benefit that is really good that I mentioned earlier. It comes with a built in recovery bonus and it can really come in handy when you need it. It wont be often but when you do need it, you'll likely really need it. Skippable yes but usefull enough I wouldn't want to.
Good luck to you.
Death can be Beautiful. A Night Widow Guide on a budget
Evis is a heavy hitter on NW. It is slow but with the increase in melee radius to 7', you can easily hit two targets.
My Widow has two builds. One is all-ranged Fortunata (double assault) and one is what I call a Blood Widow build because she doesn't use any psi attacks and stealth and placate.
My Blood Widow uses:
Assault x 2
Maneuver x 2
Mind Link
Follow Up
Spin
Evis
Poison Dart (instead of Swipe as Swipe's damage is pathetically low and I rather have a range attack and some -regen debuff)
Lunge
Strike
Slash
Follow Up, Strike and Lunge have chance for knockdown. I used to have it in Slash as well but I need more ranged defense so I put full Mako in Slash. It is a very good hack&slash build IMO. This Blood Widow build's damage is amazingly high. I would say it's probably the highest sustained DPS build I've made so far.
PS: You can't run this build without either Miracle and Numina unique and many sets to offset huge endurance cost.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
OK so my NW just dinged 35 and i love the way she burns thru solo missions. i dont team much with her. im happy with her build and im looking for opinions on what would be best to enhance her present efficiency or add a new dimension based on what i have in the build now, how i play and what is left to pick from. i recently picked up Mental Training so im trying to decide what my next pick will be
i cant post my build but will just list the stuff for ease...
Swipe, Strike, FU , Lunge, Slash
CT: Def, TT: Man, IndWill, Foresight, MindLink, MaskPrez, Ment Train'g
Hasten, SS, Stamina, AidSelf
my defenses seem adequate for how i play. since im all ST attacking i run up to a group running MaskPrez and crit on the first foe. i know Build up goes better with that style but i prefer having FU in my attack string after my opening attack. as long as im not surrounded by too many foes my HP and Endo are normally enough to sustain me thru each battle. i slash, they die, i move to next group. when i have too many around me for the defense to handle it, i can move around a little, use AidSelf, keep attacking and normally there will be at least a couple dead which makes the group manageable again
i dont use IO sets so i use Hasten, MT and Def/rech to keep MindLink almost perma
i will list the powers that im thinking of getting next and why. if anyone has reasons for getting or skipping something please let me know...
1)TT: Assault or leadership: this is not really a team oriented toon so these arent as required as that would imply. however either would be nice on a team and meanwhile i think i can get good use in solo play out of the +damage or +to hit. im a little concerned about whether the endo use would be worth it. of the 2 im leaning more toward leadership 1st...assault maybe later in build
2)Placate: its my understanding that once i open with an attack out of maskprez i can hit placate for another Crit. depending on the size of the group i normally leave maskPrez running while i fight. if it looks like i will have to fight for a while i turn it off. if i can burn thru quickly i leave it on so placate might come in handy inserted into my attack string. my concern is that i have read on the forum that the pause to placate a foe actually hurts DPS and the placate should be replaced with an actual attack in which case i wont take it
3)Spin or Evis: another attack is always nice but since i have some experience with cones im not sure whether Evis would be worth the endo. it doesnt take much to line up for a cone attack but i often dont even try and just keep attacking. i hear Spin is very good but it is a AoE and im not surrounded very often (above playstyle) which again calls into question the endo use....maybe spin is good to catch a couple guys just outside cone range in addition to my main target?
4) Elude: i always take my tier9 god power on other toons. i hardly ever use them because of the HP crash and i find if i need it to defeat something it will probably crash before its dead. its just there for security if overwhelmed. however since Elude doesnt drop my HP perhaps i would use it more since all i need is a couple blue pills to get my toggles up again. heck i might use it whenever its up like a blaster Nuke
ok thats all i got. thanks
