If I have the recharge down to 10 seconds am I amble to have three out at once? Or does summoning a new one get rid of the old one?

Sorry for the newbie question. Not played around with Ice Patch for years.

you can put them down as fast as you make them. If you place them on top of one another they change from knock-up to knock back. Ice patch and rikti monkeys do not mix well, but it is really funny.

YMMV---IMO

Ah that's interesting. Is it a bug that it's converted to knockback?

I think it is by design. stacking the knock up makes sense, to me anyways, to go to knock back.

Yeah it makes sense I suppose. Just with it not saying it anywhere in the power description does make me wonder why it does that. Hmm. Thanks for your help.

Basically, the only difference between KD and KB is the magnitude. IIRC, less than 1, it's KD, above 1, it's KB. Having more than one Ice Patch (or other KD patch), pushes the magnitude above 1 (same, as, say stacking holds on a boss), hence it becomes knockback instead.

Last Time i used ice patch it didnt knock back anyone, it just made you be able to knock down more people on the mob.

This same principle is why very light enemies like Clockwork minions or Rikti monkeys, and significantly lower level enemies will get thrown back from basic knockdown effects.

Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.

Kinda like controllers earthquake, saw one person that had slotted it with kb thinking it would keep them on their butts longer, instead it shot em across the screen, was pretty funny.

Dark Armor is like that kid you knew in school that didn't know when to shut up, and no matter how bad he got beaten down, he got right back up again and kept on talking.
