i find the new forums faster, actually. Could be something you have enabled. Might also be that images are now allowed and you're seeing slower load times due to images in posts. Might also be something totally unrelated. *shrug*
Spell checker also works fine, for me. Make sure you still have it enabled. Tools -> Add-ons -> Advanced -> General -> Browsing
The spell checker in my Firefox works fine in the quick replies. Thank god... Which version are you running? Could it be a security setting in your FireFox?
Oddly the problem was spell checker was unchecked in the box that shows up when you right click inside the quick reply box.I never even noticed it was in there before.

So The forum seems sluggish to me.Whenever I click a link there is a long pause before it opens said link.Is this just me?
