New forum broke all the old guides' links? :-(

The old forum used a different linking system. All old forum links will be broken until they are updated.
Eventually a new guide to guides will be written, but it is currently not the most pressing matter at hand.

One thing you can do is use google's cache; copy the link and google the domain (boards.cityofheroes.com or boards.cityofvillains.com) and the number from the link(like 10698303), then click the 'cached' link in the search results. The formatting is wonky, but the main text is there.

The old posts all had numbers on the UBB forums. The transferred posts have numbers, but they are not the same.
If you try to create a script to match the old numbers to the new numbers you wind up with the script running at times to fix a link pointing to a post that hasn't been imported yet. If you wait until after the import, it has no reference for the old numbers to be able to translate them to the new numbers.
It's a bit of a Catch-22. This means that the people that write guides or have links in their scripts will need to fix them on their own. Luckily, the editing window on those posts is still open for now.
If you run across a bad link in a file and you know that the person that posted it is no longer an active subscriber, if you search and find the correct link you can PM the Community Support team with a link to the post that needs to be fixed giving them the bad link in the post and the corrected link in the post. It may take them a while to get it edited in since they have quite a bit going on with these new forums and their other duties.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

As long as they still have active accounts, the OPs can just edit their guides to point to the new locations of things they link to. It can be tedious having to search for them, but that's the way it is.
And I know someone else updated the Scrapper Guides in the Scrappers forums, and I updated the Brute Guides in the Brutes forums, so that they now have the new links to the various guides.

Now I haven't checked ALL of the player guides' links, but all the ones I have checked no longer work, which makes me sad for all the wisdom I can't find any more (despite searches).
Any chances the devs are/can think up some kind of script that can replace the old links with new working links or are we pretty much left to start over from scratch?
L50 as a Tank, Mastermind, Soldier, Blaster, Defender & Brute so far. Still trying testing alts in search of my 'main'. So many possibilities!
