My husband has, at least for me, the best analogy for the current rating system. He compares it to the costume and bio contests we often see in Atlas Park. How many times have you scratched your head at the winners and wondered what possible factors went in to the judging to get that result? My personal favorites in my 5+ years in CoX:
- A female character dressed in a black basic top and skirt winning a cc because the judge reasoned "I like Goth chicks".
- A bio contest winner whose bio read "Steve Houston, a man barely alive. We can rebuilt him. We have the technology. We can make him better, stronger, faster."
It is all in what the judge knows and likes be it a 40+ year old woman who is well read or a 9 year old boy that won't even pick up a comic book. The votes of each player, no matter their background carry the same weight.
