But.. the alternate flight animations ARE the fly emotes... aren't they?
I believe they want to change the fly pose without using emotes.Say pick which pose you like at the tailor and it uses that pose from then on.

1) they at first made it where the changed animation was generated client-side and would cycle through/change whenever you started moving after coming to a stop/hit back. But not everyone would see the same animation
2) it messed with the strafing and/or banking animations
The emotes were pretty much a compromise because they didn't have the time to implement the tech needed to make a permanent change to what pose/animation you used and everyone could see it. The animation customization sure sounds like it would be the tech needed. Assuming based on known info anyway.
Whether it will be applied to pool powers or how long after launch of power/animation customization is unknown at this time.
