That would be because these are different forums. In order to have fixed EVERY link in EVERY guide and sig, the forums probably would have had to stay down a LOT longer than 72 hours.
It's not too hard to fix sigs. Just do a Search for the title of the thread, and use the new URL. The good new, though, is that there is (currently) no restriction on editing. I was able to edit a post I made in Feb 2008 with no problems. 
Fixing guides works the same way, but it can be a lot more tedious, depending on the number of links. I updated the links for the Brute Guides sticky, and that was rather time consuming.

Not sure if anyone has posted this but has anyone else noticed that every single guide link in guides or in peoples sigs are broken?
