PC updater never finishes (Please help!)

Go into the install folder and delete the .checksum file(s).
Try again.
If that doesn't work, I'm sure FFM will show up with a genius solution.
Oh, and welcome to the forum, gratz on second post!

Thanks Shadowe I have tried what you say but still nothing.
I've been deleting the .checksum file(s) and nothing it seems to either loop, freeze or just genrally play up.
Tried deleting Cityofheroes.exe, then running the EU updater?
If it says it can't install, copy the updater out of the City of Heroes folder and then run it...
FFM may be better suited but these have previously worked forme.

Another possibility that springs to mind is that your firewall software might have a block on the latest version of the .exe (sometimes happens after a patch).

If deleting the checksum file isn't working, then it sounds like there may be a temporary file stuck in the folder that's causing it. I'm not at my home PC right now, so can't check what the file extension might be, but if the OP could post a list of all files in his CityOfHeroes game folder (not the sub-directories), I might be able to see what's causing it.
T'is an odd problem. Deleting the checksum file SHOULD sort it...
You could also try downloading just the EU CoHUpdater again, there's a sticky at the top of this forum that shows you how.

I'm guessing that you didn't manage to solve it Tuesday NN... real sorry I couldn't stay longer but I had an early trip on Wednesday.
Did you delete the majorpatch file too? So as to force it to download again?

Images don't work for regular posters, just for Rednames.
I'd wait for FFM to confirm it, as he has oodles more experience on this than me, but I'd say the temp file and the checksum file have to go.

OK, delete any and all .majorpatch, .checksum and .prv files and let me know if that works.

after delteing the files, reinstalling several times I keeping messages about checksumming and then it says fixing files city of heroes.exe or it loops thought that and checksumming and verifying files, is there anything I can do?
It just seems to keep looping, I delete the checsumming file and as soon as I try to update it brings back the chechsumming file.
