Claws/DA suggestion

Hi to all, I need some suggestion for a template with Claws/Dark Armor. I really don't find very useful powers like Death Shroud, Cloak of Fear and Oppressive Gloom, they are useful only for minions but didn't touch lieut and over. So I was thinking of increasing my res and def but I can't find a good solution to increase them in a good way so I'm asking myself, Dark Armor is so bad compared to other powers?

About Claws I'm quite satisfied, I took all the powers except for Swipe and Confront and I'm really performing well about damage and knockback.

So my very doubt are on Dark Armor, every suggestion is appreciated.

No Scrappers /secondarys are bad. It just has a slightly different playstyle to it when compared to the others.

Death Shroud: Dreath Shroud will add a lot of damage output to you over time. It allows you to take tougher enemies in a mob when Death Shroud can deal with the minions. With the minions dead/close to being dead it will require you to be using less attacks. Therefore: providing you with more endurance.

Oppressive Gloom: Very good damage migitation.

Cloak of Fear: I'm not sure on the excact amount of -ToHit it provides, but I've only heard positive comments on this power. It would also migitate some of your enemies.

The set provides excellent resistance! Taking Tough from the fighting pool will add 11.25% resistance to S/L at base. I'm predicting that if you take Tough and the dark res powers, if you two - three slot them, your S/L res would be approximately 55-65%. With the res cap being 75% for a Scrapper, this is awesome.

All of the resistances will be high anyway. Including PSI! /DA is one of the only two Scrapper secondarys that provides PSI res. The other is /WP.

If you're looking for some more defence, then you could take Weave from the fighting pool. It would add around 5-6% defence to all. You could possibly even consider taking Maneuvers or CJ.

In my view; I wouldn't look at /DA for just +Res and +Def, the migitation is one of the best features from the set! There is probably a few guides for /DA that you could observe on these forums. I beleive Dagar has a guide for /DA, so maybe you could check that out?

I hope this helps. One more thing: a extremely common error made with /DA is taking Acrobatics when slotting a KB IO or two will be reccomended a lot more.

You can contact me in-game via my global: @JeffJeffityJeff

If Dagar is online on the forums then you can contact him. He probably has more knowledge related to /DA.

Finally, what lvl are you at the moment? And do you have a current build planned? I'm sure that when you use IOs, you will see the potential of /DA.

I'm 50, this is a template I've made. I accept any advice. I'm not sure about it because I think there may be endurance problems.

Since my main character is a fire/da scrapper i'll give you all the advice i got on the dark armour side of things.

[ QUOTE ]
Level 4: Murky Cloud
(A) Titanium Coating - Resistance/Endurance
(5) Titanium Coating - Resistance/Recharge
(5) Titanium Coating - Endurance/Recharge
(7) Titanium Coating - Resistance/Endurance/Recharge
(7) Titanium Coating - Endurance

[/ QUOTE ]

All you need in this is Resis > resis/endurance > endurance. The set bonuses after the initial 3 isnt worth the lowered stats imo, since you can then have the extra 2 slots to either cap out the resistance or the endurance side of things. Personally i use the above 3 plus a psi/status resistance IO and a psi resistance.

[ QUOTE ]
Level 10: Combat Jumping
(A) Blessing of the Zephyr - Run Speed, Jump, Flight Speed, Range
(15) Blessing of the Zephyr - Run Speed, Jump, Flight Speed, Range/Endurance
(17) Blessing of the Zephyr - Knockback Reduction (4 points)
(36) Luck of the Gambler - Recharge Speed

[/ QUOTE ]

For universal travel IOs i found its best to actually put them in a travel power you have on most of the time, in my case it was superjump or superspeed. If you can afford it, i'ld go for the winters gift one since you want to try and raise your resistance and it gives a very nice +5% cold resis bonus. LoTg + recharge and a +accuracy IO i got in my combat jumping.

[ QUOTE ]
Level 14: Super Jump
(A) Unbounded Leap - +Stealth

[/ QUOTE ]

I did the same as you here for pvp purposes but i found that it really doesnt make that much difference, with cloak of darkness i found to have more than enough stealth as it is. Any more was just overkill/nowhere near enough to evade pvpers.

[ QUOTE ]
Level 26: Dark Regeneration
(A) Touch of the Nictus - Healing
(29) Touch of the Nictus - Accuracy/Endurance/Heal/HitPoints/Regeneration
(43) Touch of the Nictus - Heal/HitPoints/Regeneration/Recharge
(46) Touch of the Nictus - Accuracy/Healing
(46) Touch of the Nictus - Accuracy/Endurance/Recharge

[/ QUOTE ]

Exactly what i did however i had an extra slot in there for an acc/recharge just to make sure i always have it up just incase.

[ QUOTE ]
Level 35: Death Shroud
(A) Obliteration - Damage
(45) Obliteration - Accuracy/Damage/Recharge
(45) Obliteration - Accuracy/Damage/Endurance/Recharge
(50) Obliteration - Accuracy/Recharge

[/ QUOTE ]

6 slot this always. Like was said earlier, its really good when used overtime in a large mob and the set bonuses you can get from it is well worth it.

[ QUOTE ]
Level 47: Conserve Power
(A) Recharge Reduction IO

[/ QUOTE ]

Put an extra slot in this if possible for another recharge IO. Will want it up as much as possible.

[ QUOTE ]
Level 49: Recall Friend
(A) Endurance Reduction IO

[/ QUOTE ]

I really wouldnt bother with this and would get hasten instead. Just my point of view that a scrapper should be looking for recharge/self buffing instead of helping team mates since that role is more suited for the other ATs.

If you'ld like i could post my current live build up though.

Just a quick and easy gain, take the two slots from soul transfer put them in health the add numi heal and numi heal/other. then take two of the slots from cmbat jumping and put them in health add a regen tissue +regen and a miracle +recovery or a generic heal IO.

That will give you and extra 120% regen.......

I would also loose the touch of lady grey's and put crushing impact acc/dmg/rech and an achilie's heal chance for rez debuff.

Oh and loose the apocalyse damage and add a force feedback chance for +recharge.

Fianl one, I prefer Impervium armor to titanium coating and have 4 lots of the 4 resist ones in all 3 of my lvl 50 DA scrappers.
