Questions About Mob Placement

Greetings folks,

I'm fairly new to the game, and even newer to MA, but decided to give it a go. I'm really enjoying it so far, and have come up with a fairly simple mission revolving round one of my heroes and one of my villians.

However, I'm running into a few issues.

The set up is this. Map is the Zig breakout map, as I want players to prevent a breakout of the villian. In it, I want them to start with an ally. In this case, my main hero. I then want them to fight their way through to the zig cells (you start from the Arachnos flyer on this map) to finally battle with the villain of the story.

However, I can't figure out where to place the boss and ally to get them to spawn in the same place. Both seem to spawn next to each other.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

IIRC the Zig breakout map only has 3 spawns points for allies/bosses/battles etc - all 3 are in the cells at the end of the map.

There is currently no way in MA to start a map with an accompanying ally.

i.e. sorry - you're doing nothing wrong. Nothing similar to what you want to do can be done on this map.

It all depends on how the map is set up.

I have an idea that on that map all the spawn points in the cells are "rescue" type spawn points, which means that you can't have a boss spawn there.


I really should do something about this signature.

Hmmm, I wonder if I should just restrict my hero to a contact on this mission and include him as an ally in later missions on the arc I have yet to write

In Issue 15 you will be able to see on the map where the different spawn points are and give you a better idea of maps that may work without going through too much trial & error.

That seems only to be for indoor maps though, so might not be in place for the Zig map.

No, they're present for outdoor maps also.

Looking on test, the map in question (Zig Breakout) appears to have:
- 3 boss/ambush/patrol/destroy object spawn points (all in the cells)
- 3 rescue/escort/ally/defend object spawn points (which appear to be in the corridor leading up to the cells)

All 6 of these are marked as 'FRONT' locations.

As it happens, my mission seems to be fairly popular on Union at the mo, so I'm pretty chuffed.

Gratz on that.

I presume that know that from tells whilst you're on Union, as if it's just the number of ratings that you're going off then remember that the published MA arcs are available to all live servers - both EU and US.

The only way to tell is often if you get a comment tell about your arc then you know that the person played an EU account (as currently there's no comments being transferred between EU and US servers).

Well, its a single mission at the moment, and I'm planning on adding more installments over the next few days.

I really enjoying writing and planning it though, so its a pleasant bonus to the game that I wasn't expecting.
