City of Heroes on Steam
Strange, I can launch the CoH/V client fine on Steam. I'm use the GvE edition. Don't have a clue what might be wrong.
'fraid not, It launches fine for me...though like The_Phantoms I use GvE edition.Though I doubt that has any bearing on the matter.

It has none, since everyone uses the same version client.
Copy-paste the shortcut's full path, OP, there might be something missing there. Highly unlikely, but it's worth checking nonetheless.

Also, might be worth double-clicking the actual updater EXE - should make it clear whether it's a shortcut problem or a "won't run at all" problem.
The file path is listed as "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.EU.exe". When running via a new shortcut to that path it works fine- just when I make the shortcut through Steam it fails to launch.
Non Steam purchased CoX installation info...
Load: Steam
Select Tab: My Games
Click Button: 'Add non-Steam game...'
Highlight (by clicking on the line showing): City of Heroes C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\
Click the check box for: City of Heroes C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\
Click Button: 'Add selected programs'
Steam should now list CoX with a message: Shortcut - Ready
Highlight your new CoX listing and then either right-click and select Properties or just click the Properties button
In the target box showing: "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.exe"
Adjust this to: "C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.EU.exe"
Add any additional options if required such as: -compatiblecursors 1
"C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CohUpdater.EU.exe" -compatiblecursors 1
Click Button: 'Close'
Your game is now runnable via the Steam Launcher...
If it fails to run...
Go into your C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\ directory...
Rename the CohUpdater.exe executeable to CohUpdater.EU.exe!
This little fix can also help adjust botched US/EU Install's
US CoX: CohUpdater.exe
EU CoX: CohUpdater.EU.exe
Note: I copied and renamed this file so I could run either version of CoX.
Personally I feel my computing failures don't deem the title of a "Technical Issue", so I thought I would poke about here...
Anyways I have been attempting to add CoH to my list of Steam games and the little blighter is refusing to co-operate. This isn't the Architect Edition or anything, just bog-standard spandex; so I was just wondering if I was being dim and missing something obvious.
I added it in the usual route and made sure the link was going to the EU updater, but I just get a Steam popup with "City of Heroes has failed to launch."
Any ideas?
