Can't connect

Hey guys,

I've recently restarted my subscription after about a year of not playing to find that whenever I try to connect to a server I get the "Can't connect to DBserver" error and have done for a few days now. I have checked my firewall and CoH has full access to the internet. I have also e-mailed support who have failed to reply. Does anyone have any idea if I have any other options available to me?

At what point of the load process does this happen?

If it's after you enter your password, check that your shortcut and game executable connect to the EU version of the game (there are a LOT of posts on this forum about how to do that - Here, for example).

If it's after you select a server, I'm a bit stuck, and you'll need to wait to hear from support - unless someone else can come up with an answer.

Thanks for the reply Shadowe. But it is after I select a server. Hopefully some one can come up with something because support seem to be taking a while :P

I'm having the same problem after I click on "Union". I wait a bit then it times out and says "Lost connection to DBserver" and sends me back to the login screen.

Same here. Paud for it since friday. Still haven't heard a response from support how to fix it.

I thought it had just been me. I've still not heard from support either and I paid for mine on...I think tuesday. I'm gonna leave it a week and then they may recieve an unhappy e-mail seeing as I'm currently paying for a game I can't play. It sucks, I'd obviously rather just play the game than be a whiney unhappy customer but even so...a man has to do what a man has to do.

guy's i've just fixed mine, it was my firewall settings needed to allow the game

Yes - always check the firewall is set to accept CoH - you'll need to reset the firewall too each time the game gets a patch, as that causes the firewall to think it's a new program.

I wish I was having the same success. Unfortunately for me it is definately not the firewall. I've even gone to the extent of turning all possible firewalls off to check...only to have the same results

Check your Anti-Virus logs as well - some can complain because the updater is updating code.
