Creating a Hero
Hello there! Nice to see new-ish Role-player there.
Just a quick note on psychic characters, they tend to be a bit hard to pull of role-playing with, as the potential to annoy people greatly is inherent with psychic powers!
Also if you're going to be trying out Hero side RP, I recommend you come to the Galaxy Girl Statue in, surprisingly enough, Galaxy City at about 9-ish BST.
Now onto making something up, I'll stick with just making the scrapper...
How about a Martial artist teacher who used to run a dojo or some such somewhere in Paragon city, but then some thugs attacked! And he beat them off, and was hailed as a hero and now wants to for various reasons give being a real hero a try
Or some average Joe inherits a magical medallion, what he puts it on he gains super martial arts powers of an ancient warrior or something.
Or a scientist who invented a new serum that speeds up reaction times ten fold and uses his new found super reflexes to make the world a better place!
Um anyway yea those are just some ideas >.>
Yeah I don't understand that about psychic powers. Is it because of the holds and stuff, because all dominator powersets have at least some type of hold. I just like the idea of having psychic powers :P
O.o. intriguing, why so? BST is...B??? standard time?
Thanks for the ideas so far by the way.

Mr. Bocor has fallen victim to a group of hooded vigilantes who have been plaguing Port Oakes, interfering with illegal operations and pacifying villain's powers. He demands that revenge is taken on these miscreants and his powers are returned! You look like just the villain for the job. Challenging.
British Summer Time. Basically the UK's version of Daylight Savings.
And the main issue with Psychic characters in roleplaying is simply the fact that nobody wants someone poking around in their head without consent, is all. Unfortunately, some "RPers" tend to do this without checking with the target player first, and often annoy the hell out of said target player Out-Of-Character as well as In-Character.
Sam: "My mind is a swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas."
Max: "Me too."
Stuff
British Summer Time, it's an hour ahead of GMT.
But yes in terms of Psychics they can be hard to pull off, as people like to be able to have their characters keep secrets or even be dishonest. If you've got an ultra-psychic who's always reading your mind you can't pull all these off.
It's partially the reason why you'll find so many ways that characters are immune to Psychics in their bios.
However! I have a bit of experience and a character who's a Psionics teacher! So if it appeals to you could roll up a new Psychic who's just learning about their powers, and I'll have mine around too, will also be a fairly easy way of getting you introduced to other Rpers. Of course all that is if -you- want that of course, just offering options!
I wouldn't bet on anyone here to come up with a hero for you to use, it's hard enough being creative for our own characters, that good ideas and concepts are like rare treasures to be hoarded.
I suggest you play an Amnesiac or a character who doesn't like to talk about their past. Play it cool, don't write everything out in stone. Choose the powers you like best from the type of play you like best, and get an idea of their origin story, but again, there's no need to cement it in.
Then you can wing it. I've found that my favourite characters really grew up from minor things like costume ideas and names, with little thought to their story. Using your imagination to bull-s**t your way along as you interact with others. I find it's a great way to develop an interesting character because, if you're anything like the rest of us Drama-Kings/Emeperors/Queens/Cats, you're going to be trying to be interesting. Drawing out your best ideas and what you like best. What feels natural to RP for you.
Don't be afraid to just go for it either. In Pocket D, 95% of the people have gone there to actively RP, and they wait patiently for anyone to take interest in their characters. If you play an outgoing, cocky or just friendly character (someone without over-powering social restrictions), you can harvest juicy creative interactions by getting stuck in with others, which might in turn help you build your character into an pretty cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything.
It takes Chaos to move the world to Action.
Well I created my hero character I think either the day I made this thread or day the after, pretty much basing his creation on what you just said. I went with a Empathy/Psychic Blast Defender, and I've pretty much got his background down. It's nothing really epic though :P

I hope this is the right place to put this.
Anyway, right. I currently have a single L19 (Gravity Control/Psionic Assault) Dominator on Union, and as I am a heavy roleplayer I came up with a backstory and everything for him and stuff, I found it pretty easy after I fell in love with the Dominator archetype (though I heavily regret not giving him Mind Control instead of Gravity Control).
I also have a L8 Mastermind, but I'd prefer not to mention him so I don't get unfocused :P Level 50 seems like a challenge for someone who likes to move at a leisurely place dying a lot. I'm not sure exactly how many times as this game doesn't seem to keep a record, but I think I've easily beaten my record of 100 for all the years I was playing Asheron's Call on my main.
Stop babbling. Yep, so when looking into making a hero (as I'm currently stuck halfway through an MA taskforce and am waiting for some friends to come online and give me a hand) I found that none of the classes really leapt out at me. After some time looking at builds, I came up with one of these three.
Scrapper
Primary: Martial Arts
Secondary: Super Reflexes
Pros: Super Reflexes, by far one of the coolest powersets I have ever seen.
Cons: Martial Arts, my favourite out of the Scrapper's primary, but I don't like the actual powers.
Controller
Primary: Mind Control
Secondary: Empathy
Pros: Yay, I finally get to use Mind Control!
Cons: However, I would just be playing the same kind of character I already am as a villain. That doesn't seem very appealing.
Defender
Primary: Empathy
Secondary: Psychic Blast
Pros: Different class but still similar to what I like, Psychic Mastery as an ancillary power pool (why aren't Villain power pools as various?)
Cons: Psychic Blast...having virtually the exact same powerset I have on my Dominator seems even worse than playing virtually the same class.
Yep, so I'm torn. I was hoping you guys in the roleplaying section could help me out by massing your creative minds and coming up with some hero personas for my characters. At the moment that seems what I'm lacking, and seems like the perfect thing to bring me to a decision.
