Chat Tutorial/Standard Server Channel

How about a tutorial to introduce new players to the chat system?

I have been introducing new players to the "union chat" channel for ages now, it's a necessary evil, but I'm sure we would all agree that knowledge of HOW to do this could be done through a simple fun lesson?

Also, it might be useful to make a standard global server channel (perhaps "server_name$ Chat"?) so that new players wouldn't have to scramble about in the dark so much? I remember when I began playing, it was as if there was no community at all until I discovered where everybody was chatting.

... you know I have been playing this game on and off since june 2005, totaling more than 27 months of playtime, and I didn't know about this chanel... that says a lot, doesn't it.
