You can softcap positional defense by 31 with a full set of gaussians, a steadfast res/def unique and regular lvl30 defense ios.
With accolades and sets you can hp cap it in addition to being soft capped and have about 370%-390% regen. Slotted correctly (whole build) OwtS will cap your s/l res and have about 40% to the rest.
Shield defense is an awesome set.

And his secondary he was going for SS for the rage and foot stomp and that he enjoys it
Or Dark Melee for the -acc on foes and the hp drains
