I like the second build more all i would do is change the performance shifters to effiacy adaptors and cytos to enzymes except in invincibili where i would slot 2 enzymes and a membrane. Not necessary though, pretty cool build.

EDIT: also switch the regen tissue heal/end in health to a numina heal/x.

I think the builds can be improved but prefer the second. I think rather than decide it'll be better to look at everything in detail and see if you can improve on it. In fact maybe combine the best parts of both of them and see what you get.

Typical general reply: When or if you exemp you will die a lot.

Crushing Impacts in Boxing for Mez resistance? Boxing taken 22 levels before tough? Invincible waited for? Resist Elements at 16 when RPD or Energies would be better? You've Imperviumed up Unstoppable when you could of imperviumed up Temp Invuln and Unyielding more and given yourself 5 more endurance points which is + extra end rec as a result of atleast 4 slots. I would RPD where boxing is, Health where REl is, Inv where health is, put anything like global +def or +Psi res in RPD so it always stays on. Moving Boxing nearer Tough and so on.

OK, I'll do a general shift around of the powers later. Thank you for the advice. Going back to my first post in this topic, you think if I used the first build's power choices, and worked in the slotting of the second build combined with your advice on slotting, I'd end up with a much better build?

Nope.Conserve Power is nice but that's about it. I just think slot wise or level taken wise you could draw the best from both and mix it, then have one build for people to look at, then receive suggestions.

Give yourself 3 accolades Freedom Phalanx Reserve, Portal Jockey and Task Force Commander and see how many bonus hitpoints your over the top with Dullpain up. I know Dullpain is up most of the time and not for something like 30 secs with your build but if it was hastened you'd pretty much perma dullpain and constantly capped in hitpoints, whilst closing the number of attacks you need to chain.

Def debuffs hami's work okay in the def toggles? I think they might but I darent find out. If they do 33% +def each there is no point adding more than 2 of them.

There are several different routes to take this tank, some do a no psi but good def all build, some do a psi build, some will settle for a fun build that works with a higher level of team work.

Tanker HP Cap is 171.4%.
Slotted Dull Pain adds a little under 60% HP.

That's 11.4% left from other sources, including accolades.

In other words, Dull Pain, plus 'Portal Jockey' and 'Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member' will cap you. No need for even 'Task force Commander', let alone any +HP set bonuses.

With the accolades you mentioned my max HP goes from 165.1% to 171.4%, I get 0.24/s more recovery, and my max end raises from 104.5% to 109.5%.

I'm not sure which power to get rid of to make space to Hasten if I decided to have it in my build. Which power would you drop if you really wanted Hasten in this build and you wanted to lose as little of the bonuses as possible?

You won't get perma Dull Pain without at least 55% Global Recharge plus Hasten anyway... but If I was to drop something in that build it'd be Hurl Boulder, followed by Resist Elements. Neither are particularly great.

I'd suggest what Maelwys said if you rather of went that way, its not necessary that you do and even if you were to swap combat jump for haste it can be the loss in def that be compensated by other means ie someone dishing out a def buff/tohit debuffs or you using lucks. With recharge its pretty much SB or AB. You could have a jet pack from the Shards for a travel power if you wanted.

Unfortunately there is no "have it all" tanker and the most important thing is for you to know what you're doing even to the point of showing you know more about the enemy or more about every powerset than all your team mates do and "hopefully" get survivability out of team dynamics.

You can have a super solid build in terms of x and play like a dumb meatshield or a fun build and have all of the team play with some intelligence, it's generally that.

I'd move away from percentage figures and look at things in real terms. How many hitpoints are you over the cap and how many +hp bonuses can you swap out for something else?

I played with your build for what I would do but then I have no idea on your intentions or on your idea of fun. I even planned a new Shan build on what maybe your thinking, building with Hami-s first and working them out for better stuff where poss.

OK, how's this then? It has higher Def in most areas, higher Psionic Res, Conserve Power and Hasten, and most importantly it has 53.8% global recharge.

Shannon, would you be able to give me the code for that build so I can just import it into my hero designer? It'd be much appreciated.

Here is where I'm at now. I've swapped around some slotting to give me more endurance bonus. I've put a Performance Shifter: +End into Stamina for that chance at an extra bit of End. I've also swapped out Stupefy set for Mocking Beratement in Fault, as it gives me some more Def in most areas, and also an extra 1.25% Recharge time enhancement.

Now ya can chop psi res for +end or somit if ya wanted I dunno but its just a different way of slotting in some areas. I would rather use fault for what it is personally.

Oh, I never noticed the data link thing Cheers for that.

I do like the build you've made a lot, but I'm a bit concerned about the global recharge being below 55%, as Maelwys said I'd need at least 55% global recharge to get perma-DP. I've dropped one Impervium Armor from RPD and slotted another Stupefy into Fault, which means I lose 1.88% Def in Psionic, but ups my recharge to 53.8%. That's as near as I can get to the 55% that I'm after for now. Have a look and see what you think of the change:

Hasten needs to be 3-slotted or you're not going to come close to Perma Dull Pain. At the moment you're looking at a best-case scenario of one Perma Run (Dull Pain is recharging during the full duration of Hasten) followed by a downtime of around 15 seconds between the second and third activations of Dull Pain.

The trick is to get Hasten recharged ASAP so that you can keep it up as often as possible. In simple terms: Dull Pain has a duration of 120 seconds, so must recharge in AT MOST an average of 120 Seconds (factoring in when it recharges whilst Hasten is always running, and when that recharging overlaps with Hasten's downtime)

The above assumes you activate everything as soon as it's recharged, have no network lag at all, aren't debuffed by any form of -recharge, and don't account for animation times (over 2 secs to activate Hasten)...

In practice it's a little more difficult to calculate: my own INV/SS has 55% global recharge, plus three level 50 recharge IOs in Hasten and 97.5% recharge enhancement in Dull Pain. Dull Pain recharges in 111.6 Seconds with Hasten up, and 142.6 Seconds without it up. Hasten downtime is around 20 seconds. If Hasten is down for the full 20 seconds during Dull Pain's recharge time, I get one or two seconds of lower HP. A Force Feedback Proc in Footstomp eliminates this completely, and gives me a bit of leeway for -recharge debuffs.

Right, how about this in my latest build? If I get rid of the performance shifter: end mod in stamina, and stick a third recharge reduction in hasten, I only lose a little bit of end regen and jump speed/height, but i gain that extra bit of recharge in my Hasten. I'm not sure how much time I'd have DP down for if I took that route, but I can't imagine it being down for long at all.

The build I produced wasn't a build I made but a build you made and I just played with it for 10 mins. Your putting Performance Shifters in is something I would do but it's no good me saying you should have something that's not something you can readily do or achieve. I have 2 spare PS +END somewhere but that's not something everyone can say.

I would sooner keep the +end proc but what you could do is change boxing for kick (and I did this in one build playing with yours) and put that force feedback in it eventually. They're hard to come by and prolly very expensive that's why I wouldn't change it. Keep the slow res IO in SJ and should be fine. 2 rechg in Haste is fine to get by with that build and most probs can be seen to in other ways.
